We have fixed the error in the automatic payments (damn typo's!) - and as a bonus changed down the payment schedule to 1 hour now! Automatic payments run every hour now.

I don't think it's abandoned. The dev was active just yesterday and it looks like he paid some bounties a week ago. I guess he's just busy.
