I was expecting of the Australia's announcement and declaration of bitcoins legality on their country. I forgot that Japan now is not going to tax bitcoin transactions and that's really a big help for the people there who are using bitcoin. It's like attracting people to buy more bitcoins and use it to avoid taxation.

I do believe in your speculation that bitcoin will still go to the moon, even theres upcoming news about segwit that will occur on the month of august. I have this feeling that bitcoin will reach $4k this year.

I just want to see the price of bitcoin crossing three thousand dollars and after that we can talk about seeing three thousand five hundred. The market is not way bullish right now to see a rally that could take the price of bitcoin over $3000 and so i am hoping for a small correction before the rally starts,it might take a few more months to see another rally.

august 1 will be the turning point for this investment maybe some will hype it up or try doing the other side to create panics but for sure for those long holders 4k$ can be achieved this year or even more than that value speculation already been brought up that it can hit 5k$ before the year ends.

I think Bitcoin will increase but it will not grow as fast as you say so. It is impossible for Bitcoin to reach $ 4,000 in October this year. I've also heard about the August boom, all that is anticipated is that in the future, we can not predict anything. But for smart people, they always anticipate what is going to happen. I do not think Bitcoin can end this year at $ 4,000

South Korea is going to legalize/regulate Bitcoin, and whatever you call it, regulation or legalizing, the adoption will rise due to those measures. Then Australia I think will be next and other countries may follow pretty quickly. Imo the main factor of price rising is wider adoption, so yeah, $4,000 is possible. Why not?

Goldman Sachs analyst is projecting btc could reach $3,915 in the next breakout(see: bolded).

So fast forward to Sunday evening Goldman's chief technician, Sheba Jafari, issued only his second forecast of where bitcoin is headed next which may accelerate Novogratz' crypto price target.

Recall, that as we first reported three weeks ago, Jafari said that "due to popular demand, it’s worth taking a quick look at Bitcoin here" and warned that "the market has come close (enough?) to reaching its extended (2.618) target for a 3rd of V-waves from the inception low at 3,134." She concluded that she was "wary of a near-term top ahead of 3,134" and urged clients to "consider re-establishing bullish exposure between 2,330 and no lower than 1,915."

She was right: on the very day his note came out, both bitcoin and ethereum hit their all time highs and shortly after suffered their biggest drop in over two years.

So what does Jafari thinks will happen next? According to the Goldman technician, Bitcoin is now "in wave IV of a sequence that started at the late-’10/early-’11 lows. Wave III came close enough to reaching its 2.618 extended target at 3,135. Wave IV has already retraced between 23.6% and 38.2% of the move since Jan. ‘15 to 2,330/ 1,915."

What does this mean for the uninitiated? In short, while bitcoin remains in Wave IV, it could go up... or down. She explains:

It’s worth keeping in mind that fourth waves tend to be messy/complex. This means that it could remain sideways/overlapping for a little while longer. At this point, it’s important to look for either an ABC pattern or a more triangular ABCDE. The former would target somewhere close to 1,856; providing a much cleaner setup from which to consider getting back into the uptrend. The latter would hold within a 2,076/3,000 range for an extended period of time.

However, at that point the next major breakout higher would take place, one which would take bitcoin as high as $3,915.

Either way, eventually expecting one more leg higher; a 5th wave. From current levels, [Bitcoin] has a minimum target that goes out to 3,212 (if equal to the length of wave I). There’s potential to extend as far as 3,915 (if 1.618 times the length of wave I). It just might take time to get there.

Goldman's analyst concludes with the following summary: "[Bitcoin] could consolidate sideways for a while longer. Shouldn’t go much further than 1,857. Eventually targeting at least 3,212."

I don't want to be too optimistic. True, Japan and Australia, two large economies have accepted bitcoin as a legal tender. Japan even seem to be setting up policies to encourage people to use bitcoins and considering how very tech savvy the citizens are, it's likely it'll be adopted easily.

Still, the effect of a looming possibility of a hard fork cannot be discounted. Right now price has fallen a bit, and it's very likely to fall even more as August approaches. Whether bitcoin (or bitcoin core) would go on to reach 4000 USD after this is uncertain.

There are speculations about Bitcoin getting legalized in South Korea. Also, SegWit2x seems almost certain as of now. Another good news is that Bitmain is exiting the Bitcoin sector and they are planning another altcoin. All these are positive news, which should propel Bitcoin to at least $4,000 per coin (a conservative estimate may be $5,000 per coin).

I just want to see the price of bitcoin crossing three thousand dollars and after that we can talk about seeing three thousand five hundred. It did happened before if you witnessed it but it only happened for quick time and it did went back immediately back at $2,900 and so on. And right now there's always a barrier. It hit $2,600 a while ago and passing it has another barrier the price went back again at $2,548 and possible that it can went back at $2,400 but hopefully it won't.

Those who spread the news about the event on August 1 are just trolls who wants to make a  big buying opportunity for them. It will make gullible bitcoin holders to sell their own at a much lower price. They will harvest a huge profit after that because Bitcoin pumping up to $4000 is really going to happen this year.

If it remains resilient amidst all the troubling apprehensions as August 1 is coming and survives, there is no serious reason why it won't reach that figure. But I think October is too early for bitcoin to reach that. I am not sure though. I just think that before October price will be dipping so after the dipping there would still be a recovering period. By December perhaps that figure will be reached.
