i do this question because i´ve read in this website issues with bitcoin, slow mining process, high fees, etc. and i´ve read too good reviews of some altcoins, ethereum (smart contracts), ripple (for transfers between banks), dash and nem. these altcoins called 2.0. could bitcoin become just in future virtual gold reserved to companies and rich people?
Absolutely, being the first cryptocoin doesn't mean that it will represent the best choose for ever, i am thinking at Ethereum that could replace Bitcoin.

I think that Ethereum is able to bypass Bitcoin in terms of capitalization level at the end of 2018. Ethereum has recently shown significant growth and good hopes. At Ethereum we see a richer, more complex ecosystem, which develops very quickly. As for me, this led to the fact that the cost of Ethereum grows much more aggressively than the cost of Bitcoin. Ethereum also causes interest of representatives of different spheres. I believe, that this platform can turn into a universal tool for doing business. It can be concluded that the second most popular crypto currency is constantly increasing its market share.

It is unlikely, bitcoin will be replaced by another cryptocurrency. Because, bitcoin also always to innovate from time to time. So, bitcoin can continue to act as pioneer in crypto and promising investment.

I thought about this, I think bitcoin will be replaced by alternative altcoin but it's not Ethereum or Bitcoin Cash. In the future I think there will be  a altcoin  replace bitcoin.

There is no perfect loyalty in business, including in teams and coin developers, although bitcoin does not have centralized ceo but can still be replaced by bagholder and miners who tend to switch to other coins like ethereum and xrp, none the strongest but it's just wrong one of hundreds of choices will happen in the future.

Great kings in the history has fallen to its grave somehow, its still possible that an alt coin can replace bitcoin, there is nothing permanent in our world everything has its time, today is bitcoins era but what about the next 100 years?

Probability is low but there might be a chance that some crypto may replace bitcoin. Bitcoin has established its reputation as the first cryptocurrency to reach the highest price. So investors prefere those who are established cryptocurrency like bitcoin because they would think thata cryptocurrency are all risky and prefer risk their resources to those who are reliable in handling the risk.

Good point but the thingsbyou mentioned is not enough for another cryto to replace bitcoin. Bitcoin was on its prime and it just on rise.It hasn't reached its peak yet and its not showing any signs of slowing down.Bitcoin is like the Lebron James when he was a rookie, it still have a lot of years and it will continue to improve. There will be a lot of cryto currency but it will never replace bitcoin. Bitcoin will be the best crypto of all time and thats a fact.

Thingking that way even you dont know bitcoin that much is not really understandable well people talk about this way because they tend to criticize evrything even they dont realy know much about something. Nothing could replace bitcoin because it has a headstart of a years to grow than new cryptocurrencies.
It never be happen that other crypto currency replaced bitcoin because bitcoin have high Security system and high market value. Also bitcoin has high rising rate in the value. The popularity of bitcoin is also a factor that no other crypto currency can replace bitcoin. The trust of people everywhere in the world on bitcoin is very high is compare to another crypto currencies.

At first I thought it was impossible for Bitcoin to be replaced since it is the first cryptocurrency, but you are right, some altcoins may have better features than Bitcoin and people may prefer them instead.

Here's an analogy, lets imagine all cryptocurrencies are like mobile phones. Bitcoin is Nokia, and started the mobile phone trend. And soon after everyone started using Nokia. But brands like Blackberry, Samsung and Apple soon created their own phones, and Apple made a major breakthrough with a touchscreen function, where everyone gradually switched to that after a while, and now Nokia is outdated.

Bitcoin has our trust now, but other cryptocurrencies might overtake BTC in the future. Smiley
.               I think no other crypto Will replaced Bitcoin. It is a well known and it was the first crypto in history.. if you want to invest crypto ,then first one to come in mind is Bitcoin. Its been trusted by big time investors through campaign signatures, even in exchange and trading. It has been use for a long time and  if ever there are other coins like altcoin , etherium, litecoin minexcoin and others but no one can compares to Bitcoin. No one can overtake Bitcoin through by Its popularity and  branded trademark.

By its statistics in the market, I think it is now impossible for other cryptos to be a better currency than Bitcoin or to even replace it. Its market value is getting more expensive. Also, it is getting more popularity to investors since it is becoming more profitable. Bitcoin is will surely be more successful in the future.

Replace where? I did not elected bitcoin for something for it to be put in a place or a rank that it needs of replacing. Bitcoin is digital currency the same as the other crypto currency circulating in the internet, the thing is just bitcoin is the most expensive and original digital currency. Being original is irreplaceable and being the most expensive do not need to be replaced since if other crypto currency become more expensive than bitcoin it happened and it did not replaced bitcoin, it just happens.

Replaced for ? I think bitcoin is still fine and the price itself still big, the biggest too. I don't think another crypto currency can replace bitcoin, maybe bitcoin cash can but not for the next 5-10years. Bitcoin still strong right now and for the next 5-10years.

i think no one can replace bitcoin. bitcoin is powerfull coin although many of the new coins out there already better in terms of technology. but altcoins are also based on the Bitcoin blockchain.

Not at all bitcoin can’t be replaced by any other crypto bitcoin have replaced a lot of crypto from market because bitcoin is now very stable with high price in market and now its unstoppable and there is a very strong support to bitcoin by countries and they are going to make bitcoin legal as some countries have already make bitcoin legal so did the countries and people are supporting bitcoin then there is no chance for any other crypto to replace bitcoin.

not at all it is not possible .because Since the creation of Bitcoin, there have been hundreds of altcoins created that are supposed to be the next big cryptocurrency. The first one to gain any real success was Litecoin, and now we’ve seen the likes of Peercoin, Dogecoin, and others get their time to shine. While some of the newer variations of Bitcoin offer some interesting characteristics, it’s important to remember the power of Bitcoin’s position as the first cryptocurrency ever created. For a variety of reasons, Bitcoin is already halfway around the track as these new altcoins are just about to takeoff from the starting line.and we also need to know that strong working is also required for these coins.

Bitcoin is the mother of crypto currencies. Bitcoin will not be replaced because it is more than a coin, it is a lifestyle, it is a dream, it is a hope for the future economy.
Many Altcoins will have a huge importance on crypto economy, but will never replace bitcoin.

Haha, the government are really smart.
They know they can not control or manage the transaction and activities in Bitcoin.
That is the reason they decided to accept Bitcoin is "legally" on stock market Roll Eyes

Paycoinzzz, i´ve created this thread and this is the second time i write a post. What you wrote in your post is really true. I´ve found in many posts some romantic feature with the btc, but 11/12 in cbot btc began to be traded as future and today 18/12 cme (the biggest future market in the world) will began to trade it, too. Who trades here? The power, the money owners: hedge funds, central banks, investment banks, etc. If there´s some romantic with the btc, since today that feature will disappear, believe me. Love´ll be replaced by profits.
