Hi , I'm new so basically I still have a lot to learn about the cryptocurrency , but I would like to know if it would be possible for the bitcoin to start the downfall ? I mean like what scenario can happen that the bitcoin would be pushed back like 5-6 years ?
Sorry if my post is in the wrong place or it's not relevant.
It's possible and it can even happen in a short period of time, there is no permanent and holding bitcoin alone is a risky move.
We are here because we believe but by believing we need to put some doubts and limit our investment as well.

It is possible, because the loss of value in bitcoin can be caused by the bitcoin players themselves so nail or down and missing or not its value on btuitcoin depends on the bitcoin player itself

That's you decision man, not all of us here put some doubts on bitcoin and consider hold bitcoin as a risky move.
Look at the graphs, look at the price, bitcoin has been proven as a successful investment. How lucky for those people who bought bitcoin in the early years when it was $1-$100 or even $1000 in last year. Who decided to believe in bitcoin (not put some doubts) and keep holding their bitcoin could make more money than what they've invested obviously.

Real currency or crypto currency will lose its value. It's a fact and possibly be happen in the future.
There are factors to consider:
1. The high supply of bitcoin in the market.
2. Many alt coins are being mine now.
3. Profit taking

profit taking will bring the value down as we knew that there's really wise traders and whales as well so after they have enough inside their pockets they will sell and played with the value but if you are positive you can just hold and wait just always remember that inside investment research and deep understanding are needed to survive.

It might happen but temporarily, as in the case when mtgox get hacked, making bitcoin prices crash and many people say bitcoin is dead. As time passes, bitcoin prices recover and even begin to rise. with the growing use of bitcoin and increased transactions is evidence that people are starting to trust bitcoin

This is one of the surest thing that can happen which we are even witnessing now in relation to price that has fallen to the $2400 when it has reached the $3000 some days back. However, going back to 5-6 years back is not something that is quite achievable in this current dispensation because the adoption of bitcoin is gradually increasing and hopefully it will grow to the point where it will be unstoppable by the forces of government and its agencies.

No one can give you real answer, what guarantees bitcoin to continue rise? Nothing, it will crash in some day and imagine if it will be cents and won't rice, everything can happen. It would be logical.if you ask what will happen in 4 month but in 4 years, no one knows because also there are altcoins with good future, bitcoin's high fees can cause lost of customers while altcoins don't have high fees.

No way bitcoin now is in the lowest price of this year,, but it doesn't mean that bitcoin will lose it's value , the meaning of this decreasing value today is the biggest stock holder of bitcoins sell their bitcoin and they will definitely but again so this is the right time to buy bitcoins Smiley

It's highly unlikely that bitcoin will lose its value, it can possibly go as low as 2000$ - 1500$ maximum.

I don't think it will ever drop to nothing ever again, as there will always be people who will buy them when the price starts to drop, since Bitcoin reached this high before.

Bitcoin may still lose its value as more people starts to use it and transaction fees gets insanely high and we stop using Bitcoin as often. Sad

Yes I think there is a big possibility bitcoin will lose its current value like drop down to whatever or how low it could go down but I don't think it'll stay down too for a long time, bitcoin has been progressing over the years so I'm sure it'll raise back up though it will take a couple of years but it'll surely do.

At present bitcoin is backed by quite a large community. So, there are minimal chances of bitcoin becoming worthless. People have faith in bitcoin and bitcoin community is increasing at a steady rate. I would say this is a initial phase of bitcoin with only 0.1% of world population. There is a huge potential market still available and bitcoin will keep on appreciating.

It can if there is no more electricity, no more computers and internet connection.  If people will sell their bitcoins then its price will go down then looses its value.  As long as everyone holds their bitcoins it will continue to soar high.  Only negative people will think about negative things about bitcoin.

Yes, why not. Value is define by how much people admire a thing which fulfill their utility.
Now suppose some better technology discovered and take place of cryptocurrencies. In this way Bitcoin and other cryptos utility diminish to zero hence its value. So when a commodity losses its value, it is evident that it loose its price and demand.

Bitcoin is high risk trading so when people decide to invest on bitcoin it means that you're ready for loss.
But the fact is bitcoin's value keep increase over 6-7 years so many people interest on bitcoin potential

So than I would like to ask , what can push the bitcoin price a lot higher ? I suppose countries accepting it like local currency will make it's value sky-rocket right ?

Yes, you are correct. We have Japan as a reference for that. Since the formal acceptance of Bitcoin as a mode of payment in Japan, the price of Bitcoin increased dramatically. This is due to the increase in demand for Bitcoin. So by July, Australia will follow the footsteps of Japan and users hope the sky-rocket price hike.

So in conclusion, increasing the demand for Bitcoin will trigger or push Bitcoin's price to soar up. Whatever scenario take place when it causes the increase in demand over the supply then a price hike is to be expected.

It is possible that the price of bitcoin for some time will be low, but the fact that he will lose the value of this can not be. Now, on the contrary, the growing popularity of bitcoin and the price will recover very soon.

It was really difficult to understand what you meant here,it took me a minute to understand Cheesy .Hope you meant that even if there is a correction bitcoin will regain its value because many people have invested in it.A market will growth with ups and downs and expect these kind of movements in bitcoin too.
