Expected thing happened, nobody surprised by this game and result. Mayweather could have finished before 10th round if he wanted to. The game could be less than 20 minutes but he didn't force himself. McGregor should stick to mixed martial arts, boxing isn't for him.

Yup. A lot of people went home with a little more money because of this. Betting on mayweather won't really give you big profits as he is handsdown favorite. Though if you placed a bet on pretty boy floyd, you probably were a little concerned with the beginning of the fight where conor actually won. It wasn't actually what most expected for floyd to school mcgregor. Conor lost wind late in the fight
Mayweather  is a smart fighter, he is just trying to give entertainment to the fans that's why this game was not ended early.
He sticks to his plan and he beat Conor in the late round, it's not a problem for conor anymore as he has no reputation to protect in boxing, but at the end of the day Conor is the winner with great cash reward.
Being small in the ring doesn't matter.
You remember a fighter called Mike Tyson whose statue was only 5 foot 8 inches
yet he dominated most of his fights.

He was a power house in the ring even if he was shorter than most of his opponents.
Same with Mayweather.
He is small but he can land a punch to you it is just like a being driven into a brick wall.
As what McGregor felt in the later stages of the match.

Mike Tyson was not 5'8'', he was 5'10'' (he was listed as 5'11'' and a half sometimes, which I doubt unless he shrink with age, but no taller than 5'11" for sure)

Mike Tyson was built like a tank, he wasn't tall like the other heavyweights, but he was a big guy.

But yeah, ultimately weighting a lot isn't going to win you fights.

Let me show you something.

Dudes most powerful weapon is his high kick
https://youtu.be/0UJ6msl4xTk?t=3m47s

Now, you've seen his height and his most powerful weapon taken from him by his opponents height

Now look at Bob Sapp and the chinese guy  Cheesy Cheesy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca6PE4122DI

https://youtu.be/ODrs3V6ZmYc

Height, buffness and strenght aren't the things that matter, they do contribute, but skill in fighting is exactly that - a fucking skill.

Looking for a signature campaign.

To last 10 rounds in your boxing debut against one of the greatest boxers of all times is an achievement on its own, the guy with 50-0 record vs the one with 0 years in pro boxing. We already know what's coming. It's better for Conor McGregor to return in the octagon and defend his title, I'm rooting for his comeback. For those people who streamed it on twitter, streaming it for us for free, all are the real MVP's.

Still can't believe how good the odds were for a win by Floyd. Easy money.

The game is over, there is no need to bump this thread anymore. (Unless we see a rematch.)
Mayweather was the favorite and won the game. We didn't see any surprise. He beats McGregor's ass and made 50-0.
It's time for him to retire, he's too old now.

There would never be a rematch in my opinion because Mayweather doesn't need it anymore and that match made him lots of money and it's just one game for him. It was obvious that he would win knowing that he's 49-0 before the match happened and probably he wanted to make his 50th match to be an amazing one or a unique one and that's what he did.

I think he's just toiling with the minds of the rest of us in the world. He's making serious market from us by promoting dull games with trash talk so he can milk us and he's succeeded in a number of times that's why he will not go for a rematch because they won't sell so he will probably look for another trash talker and they'd hype a new fight perhaps.

I thought about that too, I just think he doesn't need to earn more money with his fights and it's just going to be upright scripted if you ask me. 50 - 0 is already an awesome number for him to be in the real retirement stage, he wouldn't have another match anymore. He doesn't even need the money nonetheless, Mayweather has all the material things at his disposal.

Just to give you guys some update on the gate sales on the fight. It didn't break the official record set by Manny and Floyd on their fight. The current record is $72,198,500, while the May-Conor did  $55,414,865.79. Though in other sources, it broke the record of PPV sales in UK with over 1 million. The old record is held by Joshua-Klitschko fight.

We all know that the records for the PPV is 4.6M buys. The numbers are not yet in for the May-Conor. But I'm speculating that its gonna be close as well based on the number of ticket sales. Let wait for the official declaration. Usually takes more time though as they have to get collate all the PPV buys globally.

Quote
Mayweather-McGregor Gate Falls Short of May-Pacquiao Record

Two weeks prior to the event, Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe told reporters that ticket sales for the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Conor McGregor fight, which took place on August 26 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, were on a pace to break the all-time boxing gate record - which is held by Mayweather's 2015 showdown with Manny Pacquiao.
"Right now, we have over $60 million in the box office," Ellerbe said.
"And you tell me, what part of that remotely looks like ticket sales are slow. This isn't a damn Rolling Stones concert. That's the only thing that sells out in seconds. When you are talking about tickets going from $500 to $10,000, that's an expensive ticket. So you have every CEO from every major company. You know, guys, it takes time to plan and get it together."

But the information provided to Ellerbe was not accurate, as the Nevada State Athletic Commission confirmed to multiple outlets that Mayweather-McGregor brought in a gate of $55,414,865.79 in ticket sales.
The record is still held strong by Mayweather-Pacquiao with $72,198,500 - and that contest took place at the smaller MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Mayweather-McGregor still brought in  major money and the live gate figure is by far in second place - blowing out Mayweather's 2013 fight with Canelo Alvarez by more than $35 million ($20,003,150).
Mayweather-McGregor had an official attendance of 13,231 (13,094 sold and configured to seat 17,698) - a few thousand short of a sell-out, but many had felt the tickets were heavily overpriced. In the other corner, Mayweather-Pacquiao sold all 16,219 tickets the minute they went on sale.
But Mayweather-Pacquiao had over six years of hype, while Mayweather-McGregor was putting together in a few short months.
In terms of pay-per-view figures, it's going to be close. Mayweather-Pacquiao generated a record 4.6 million buys - a figure that nobody expected to be broken for a very long time - but Mayweather-McGregor is still trending to fall down in the mid-4 million range - which is remarkable when considering the short time span of pre-fight promotion for the contest.

He's done. This fight is done and a rematch is very unlikely. Connor should stay away from boxing and shouldn't juggle between ghe two contact sports he's tried. Very few excelled in any two sport. Even michael jordan realized this after his short stint as a baseball player

I think it's going to be a rough path for Conor if he wants to pursue a profesional boxing career starting at age 29... even if he is a MMA champion, he needs a lot of training to excel against top boxers.

I believe he can milk his fame and get tons of money in superfights where there is a lot of drama involved, for example a Malignaggi fight would definitely be a great success financially.

He will be having hard time to catch up other pro boxers if he wants to shift his profession into boxing. MMA is far away from boxing and he can't really push it too hard as both sports does have different quality training, set of rules and regulations and techniques.

With 0 years experience in boxing ring mcgregor got the balls and able to land 111 punches for 10 rounds against seasoned, hall of famer, world champions, title holders namely  mosely, hatton, delahoya, cotton, pacquiao and marquez.all of them can hardly landed a hundred punches on mayweathers head. Great job connor.

You have got to understand that Floyd walked Conor in this fight. Of course Conor is going to hit Floyd, since Floyd was not even trying in the first 2 rounds. You can even see him smiling whenever Conor's punches landed as if it was nothing for him. For the whole bout, Floyd was walking forward, and not the way he usually fights against other top tier boxers where he utilizes a more defensive stance.

If he wants to take this path and milk his popularity then its better for him to go WWE. They can build him a good story line and I'm sure a lot of fans will buy tickets even if its super expensive just to see him and his big mouth. LOL. The Paulie fight would be funny as hell and hardcore fans will not buy into this. I'm sure Paulie would love to kick Conor's ass for real money. But nah, I wont be interested to watch. Its gonna be another circus for all we care.

First off, the fight was over, why are people still interested in continuing this thread. Probably if you guys want to recommend a career path for Connor why not make a new thread for him, eh?

About your WWE recommendation, that is shit. WWE is fake and you want a good fighter to just act? What a waste of talent that would be.

Well until this thread isn't closed yet people would still put insights and new topics would come up like that wwe thing. Its entertainment. I think if ever conor agrees to that it will be a cameo appearance to boost ratings. Mcgregor loves publicity and thrives in the spotlight, it wouldn't hurt to act a little

WWE is a fake battle, one of the WWE Brawlers is a player in Fast and Furious Movies, he is a movie player, the Rock, Dwayne Johnson. Many WWe players are real fighters, but the fight on WWe is fake, it's already in the scenario like making a movie. Any UFC fighter or real boxer should not go into the world of a fake battle like WWe.

The match between: Mayweather Vs McGregor has ended and won by Mayweather. Do you think it's a fair game? Mayweather is a professional boxer and McGregor is a professional UFC fighter. While the game is carried out in the rules of boxing.

Mayweather has a great advantage to McGregor in terms of punching and dodging skills. Mayweather is a genius in boxing even though his way of fighting is dodging and counter punching. Boxing is far different to MMA, even though McGregor is stronger in physical strength to Mayweather but still he didn't a good boxing skills. So my bet will goes to Maywether and this will be an easy win.
I agree, Mayweather is a great boxer. Because Mayweather has the ability to avoid some punches of McGregor. Even if McGregor is the strongest but it not defeated Mayweather. I always bet to Mayweather because he is deserve to win in boxing and no one can defeat him. I think there is a rematch if we see he has a potential to become a world champion and i believe that he is the stronger than McGregor. Mayweather is the most familiar boxer at all and good in fighting.
