Some circles also predict that Mayweather Jr. would win easily over McGregor. The reason Mayweather Jr. has a reputation as well as a very positive record during the active as a boxer, ie never experienced defeat. Meanwhile, McGregor himself did not really know the rules in the fight box, which is very different from UFC.

As predicted months ago... this fight was meant to happen. I knew it was going to be 2017, but september, not this soon (August 26th)

This will be the biggest fight ever in terms of numbers. Expect insane gambling to happen that night.

Will Mayweather win as expected? Will McGregor pull the biggest upset ever and make a lot of people rich in case you bet for a McGregor win? Let's find out. My money is on Mayweather as usual. It worked 49 times, it should work again. Anything can happen in the sport of boxing tho, which is what makes this fight interesting, to see if McGregor lucks out and uses his power to KO him. I think his possibilities for an upset will get increasingly harder the longer the fight goes on. Mayweather typically tests the opponent for some rounds then proceeds to perform surgery on him, so McGregor needs to find a way o stop the fight quick.

This fight already end we already know that mayweather is the one who winning in the games of boxing.but if those fight will bring in octagon with a rule of ufc fight i think mayweather would going down easily.booth mayweather and mcgregor  are the best fighter  in there own field  but in terms of knowledge, fast, and speed mayweather is in advantage, while about in strength, reach and courage i thinks mcgregor is advantage on that  mayweather.

Although the fight between those two fighters were already done months ago, i could not help myself to criticize the promoter of that circus show. That is not a fight, that is a show. McGregor has less than 10 percent chance to win that fight. His training is for MMA which in only good for 4 rounds. Money Mayweather knows that after 5 rounds McGregor will be running out of gas and the fight is over. MoneyMay wins.

I dont know why you guys still bumping this thread knowing that the fight was over for how many months already.Theres no need to recall since there is already a clear winner on here which i do somehow presumed already before the fight. Mayweather do have all the advantage over Mcgregor since this is his own battlefield. If this being done on MMA then we would really see what would be the result too.

It is a known fact that McGregor is not known for his stamina, and Mayweather played it smart and when Connor got tired he finished him up and Mayweather started the rumor that he will be stepping up into MMA and if that happens it will be another interesting fight and a big pay day for both of the fighters,McGregor is a stand up fighter and so i would like to see that fight in the UFC. They would only do it to cash in more on the hype from the fight that lasted months before the mid-summer fight even started.
I saw an article just yesterday about McGregor wanting a rematch and I would think he would like it in the UFC ring instead of in Mayweather's house again where he knows he can not win in ever.
That would bring in mega money for the rematch and I know there will be a media circus again for that if it does happen before Money Mayweather decides to definitely retire from any ring fighting anywhere anytime.

Thread is alive again? Anticipating for the Mayweather vs McGregor inside the octagon? This 2 guys will just dance around and laugh their way to the bank. They are just cashing in on boths popularity and not for the sport specially Mayweather, this guy just want to squeeze every centavo that he can get until he see there no more interest on any of his fights.

It pains me to bump this thread again...  It really does...  I read an article today though that says McGregor and Mayweather are currently in talks to do a repeat of their last fight.  Supposedly they're arguing now over what the rules would be.  Dana White recently said that he wouldn't sign off that fight, but money talks and I'm sure he says that every time he would have to go into a negotiation like that.  It sounds like a fight is making progress though, which is confusing because McGregor said that his return would be in the octagon not the square.

As usual, these fellas need to set up something just to fill their pockets once again on simply showing off some jabs and running and viola... Easy millions.

Just snipping out something from this article.
Mayweather has reportedly offered McGregor $157.9million (£131.5m) for the rematch and is said to be willing to put his unbeaten professional record on the line.

For Dana, when the money involved is something that cant really be ignored then i wont really be surprised if he would be signing up.

Just the numbers though, I mean their sources tell the exact figures?

In any case though, we all know that boxing or combat sports at least is a billion dollar business. These people are going to see huge amount of money. So I wouldn't be surprised to see the rematch. As you have said, millions specially for Conor. I mean he is living a lavish lifestyle and somewhat this super athletes needed more to continue with their life situation for them and their families. Even Manny has a fight with some South Korean youtuber.

Yeah like you said at the end of the day money talks. I think the one issue for those fans that are really wanting to see this fight happen is that these two dudes have the name and staying power where neither could fight for 5-10 years and then all of a sudden want to and they’d likely still draw a ton of attention, so there’s probably no real rush for either one. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t see it

I was bit curiouse about that MP vs some youtuber and it turns out to be a charity match.

Well, its neither those amounts generated would be putted up into the real cause or would be taking huge percentage out of it for some income. Cheesy (Sorry for this OT)
Overall, this is business and neither an official or exhibition then the money that could be earn would be always the main thing.

Correct, it's all about the money in the end. Although Dana might not agree in the beginning, but if Conor insists to fight Floyd because of the guarantee purse then I don't think he can stop it. Besides, he can also make money out of it right? So for sure, this might happen if the news is true and that Floyd is willing to offer that kind of money to Conor because he can't refuse that.

I disagree. Uncle Dana has already mentioned many times that he does not want to be involved in promoting UFC fighters in boxing anymore. He certainly made money in Conor versus Floyd Mayweather, however, Conor lost the fight and this reduced the UFC's branding. Francis Ngannou wanted to fight Tyson Fury, Dana said no. Kamaru Usman wanted to box versus Canelo, Dana also said no.

Lock this thread.

I thought so too, McGregor named Kamaru Usman to be his preferred first opponent and fight when he returns from the injury he obtained against Poirier but Usman said that he will only agree to fight McGregor on a title shot under one condition and that is to defeat Nate Diaz first. So now, I'm quite confused why McGregor and Mayweather is now having some talks for their rematch and I don't think McGregor will get Dana White's blessing for it.

Mayweather putting his professional record on the line? I think that is not possible, Mayweather is quite sensitive in protecting and preserving his record. Although their first encounter was added to his professional record which he retires officially after the said fight but he also said that he won't be putting his record anymore to his next bouts if he will have any.

But if it's boxing, I don't have some doubts that he can still maintain his record while also adding up to it because he have the edge compared to McGregor who is just trained to exhaust his gas and energy in mere 4 rounds so it's quite easy to say that Mayweather will still win.

It's not totally the case why they are still taking up exhibition fights because I'm certain that they can still afford the luxury they have now that even their grandkids won't have a problem with the finances because they have some business that generates a decent to huge cash flows into their pockets and some are investments that will make their pockets big even though they aren't the one working for it.
For me, the reason why they are taking the fight is that this is their passion and it's their way to keep themselves in the loop, also the most obvious reason is making fights will be the easiest way to get huge money considering that they will get millions from it while taking advantage of their status.

Not really that possible because it wont really be considered to be official since he had retired since 2017 and there's no way that any winning or losing fights would be officially counted or would be patch up
on his professional records but for making out assumptions then it would really be considered on reflecting it out but in case if he would lost on any exhibition fight then this lost wont really be included.

Understood.  Cool

Money talks. None of those guys have the draw of Mayweather and maybe now that Money is a little older Connor might have a chance to get the W and bring honor back to the UFC. Dana is a businessman so I’m sure if the numbers are right he’d make it happen.

Jake Paul is desperately trying to angle himself for this fight against Connor though. Given the personal beef between Jake and Dana, I could see him letting Connor punish Jake and get some $ from it.
