It pains me to bump this thread again... It really does... I read an article today though that says McGregor and Mayweather are currently in talks to do a repeat of their last fight. Supposedly they're arguing now over what the rules would be. Dana White recently said that he wouldn't sign off that fight, but money talks and I'm sure he says that every time he would have to go into a negotiation like that. It sounds like a fight is making progress though, which is confusing because McGregor said that his return would be in the octagon not the square.
As usual, these fellas need to set up something just to fill their pockets once again on simply showing off some jabs and running and viola... Easy millions. Just snipping out something from this article. Mayweather has reportedly offered McGregor $157.9million (£131.5m) for the rematch and is said to be willing to put his unbeaten professional record on the line. https://www.sportbible.com/boxing/conor-mcgregor-floyd-mayweather-rematch-20220726For Dana, when the money involved is something that cant really be ignored then i wont really be surprised if he would be signing up. I disagree. Uncle Dana has already mentioned many times that he does not want to be involved in promoting UFC fighters in boxing anymore. He certainly made money in Conor versus Floyd Mayweather, however, Conor lost the fight and this reduced the UFC's branding. Francis Ngannou wanted to fight Tyson Fury, Dana said no. Kamaru Usman wanted to box versus Canelo, Dana also said no. Lock this thread. Did it really reduce UFC's branding when Conor lost? not sure about that though. Maybe what Dana lost is that Conor didn't come back to UFC anymore after tasting that huge money pot, like a sweepstakes for fighting Floyd. So maybe that's Dana's rant, if Conor could be back in UFC or at least fight once a year, maybe he could allow this fight to happen as big money is going to be in the table for both fighters and for himself as well.

I'm sure it's just all about the money, the fight makes both more popular and that will be regardless of the outcome. A rematch is good, it's time for Conor to depend on himself in the sport that he is very good at. A UFC fighter vs a popular boxer, that's easy money for the fighters and promoters of the fight.

Mayweather putting his professional record on the line? I think that is not possible, Mayweather is quite sensitive in protecting and preserving his record. Although their first encounter was added to his professional record which he retires officially after the said fight but he also said that he won't be putting his record anymore to his next bouts if he will have any. But if it's boxing, I don't have some doubts that he can still maintain his record while also adding up to it because he have the edge compared to McGregor who is just trained to exhaust his gas and energy in mere 4 rounds so it's quite easy to say that Mayweather will still win. Despite all this, I think the fight would be one of the titans, and I would honestly make the bet in favor of Mc Gregor because obviously I know that Mayweather has won many of his fights very attached to the technical, and when he sees himself in trouble he help me with that, just the disappointing fight against Pacquiao where he ran all over the ring for me is enough to put all my money on Mc Gregor, I think Mayweather is a very talkative fighter, and things with Mc Gregor will not be So, with this boxer I would like him to give him a good knockout, and obviously he will not put his record at stake, he knows he can lose it, so he is not stupid at all, he is very cunning, I would like that fight to take place now.

Both of them are actually very talkative, and what we call trash talking, you can see it on their first fight. During their press conferences, you can clearly see how they both open their mouths and attack each other. But it's very different inside the ring, it was a boxing ring and not octagon so obviously Floyd has the upperhand. And if this rematch happens, perhaps it will still be the same rule and so I doubt that Conor will win as Floyd will not allow his record to be blemish if this fight will become official.

Conor may not win but that $100+ million is going to be in his pocket, it's just an exhibition fight, Floyd willing to risk his undefeated record as he knows himself that Conor has no chance of beating him in boxing, clever guy.

Conor knew he isn't going to win against Floyd. Floyd is just too fast, although he had aged by now, he is capable of avoiding hits.

I've never seen Floyd Mayweather lose, so it's really hard to imagine that a champion like that would lose to MMA fighter Conor McGregor and if he fights in MMA he looks pretty fierce. But in terms of boxing, he doesn't look good. it's ridiculous to beat Floyd Mayweather, and if Floyd really thinks he can hang in there, either he's too delusional, or he doesn't mind getting brain damage and an orbital fracture as two in exchange for some money.
