Agreed--people need to spend their bitcoins in order to bolster the bitcoin economy. That has played a role in the spike in value.

I think it is best to save up to s certain amount and always keep that amount for the future. Maybe an amazon site that can accept bitcoin payments, But what I have done so far is to shop online by swapping the bitcoin in advance whether it is exchanged for dollars or the currency we use because most international shopping sites do not make payments using bitcoin.
