You can get free coins from their bounties, like translations, signature, twitter , facebook...
Just check the coin's bounty thread.

I think you could get free coins if you join in their bounty program. In addition to that, there are many ways to get free coins and some people get their free coins in mining sites. However, it took time to wait. Lastly, if you want to get free coins join in bounty program and it is very effective.

And read carefully the rule of their campaign. So you can have it and follow for what is rule.

It's in the altcoin market place.  They post their bounty campaigns on there and you just have to navigate through.  It's a little tough at first but once you get use to it you'll know which post are new or old, meaning which ones are still active and not.  If you do not know how to get to the altcoins marketplace I posted a link.

First keep providing value for the forum and you will get your rank up > you seem to be doing well at this already as a jr. member. Then you can go to the auction section and the service section to hunt for good bounties. Personally though I think you'd have more success trading alt coins to each is own though. Cheers!

Here are the 5 Guiding Steps:

First, you want to build up your Bitcointalk Member Rank like the others have said to Jr. Member as most Bounty/Giveaway/Signature Campaigns require a Minimum Ranking + Post Quality History. (It will take about 1 month to achieve the ranking with Activity)

Second, sign up for a Twitter Account to claim Twitter Bounty rewards when Coins/ICO Giveaways offer them for their Campaigns, etc.

Yah dude...  You're  right...  You need atleast higher rank than newbie and then you search some announcement  for altcoins...  Then you must follow the rules that they give to you and thats it...  You get additional coins...

Earning free coins is a bit hard nowadays, most of the time, free coins comes from faucets online and some other adv clicks online. If you want to earn from free coins, then you need to earn coins from different faucet sites. Because most of the time, they are only giving low profit, but as the time pass by, it will go higher. So I suggest, if you want to earn coins, just visit some faucet sites out there.

Those two are important to sign up on campaign and make sure you have read rules carefully and not missed any single requirement because it will lead you to rejected and you won't get paid for your promotion which make your promotion become pointless.
