Whether its bitcoin trading or altcoin trading, there is bound to come a time when your investment is getting dumped badly, and its panic time. How do you panic? Does that really make you panic and do you take decisions that you actually regretted later? Or do you keep calm and HODL? What makes you panic and how do you react to it?
I don't panic. What's that? I usually just hold and also buy more coins when the prices are falling. Sometimes I also sell a small percentage of my holding and try to buy it again at lower price. But I never sell all of it. The market is very unpredictable, so it's too much risk selling it all. To deal with panic it's very important to believe in the coins you hold. If you did the research and are sure blockchains are technologies with great perspective and you did your research on the coins you hold it won't be hard to believe in them, so you'll have no reason to panic at all. But if you just trust hints of other people on forums and don't really know the coin you hold it will be very hard not to panic and keep holding when your portfolio is red. And also never invest money you know you'll need at some point in the future. This way you'll never have the need to sell with loss and will have time to wait patiently for your holdings to be green again. EDIT: And another good point is you should know that every market always tends to go up. There are events, usually planned by large investors that manipulate the market, that will cause the market to crash. This way the big guys get their coins cheap. But whenever they buy cheap, they're interested to sell their cheap bought coins with profits. So you can be 100% sure that after every drop they will manipulate the market price to rise. So there's really no reason for worries when prices are falling. Your second point is probably the most important if you believe in a project then you are not going to panic as much as someone that only invested there because he thought it was an easy way to make money, if you did your due diligence you will be calm knowing that this is nothing but a small setback but if you did not then you are going to be worried that the coin dumps and never goes back up again.

You should not be asking this question man. The real question is how do you avoid panicking?
I think it is impossible to avoid panicking, you may reduce the amount of times you panic but at the end if you have a lot of money invested in a coin and that coin begins to drop in price at a great speed then I think it is natural to panic at that point, so the only thing we can do is to try to minimize the amount of situations in which we are going to panic by not putting all our money in a single coin.

Traders should not be prone to panic. This has a negative effect on trade. Always remember that bitcoin is a reliable crypto currency. And the fact that after every fall there will be growth. Panic will not help you in anything. When you become an experienced trader, you will stop panicking
That is why it is always good for someone to try to overcome that most especially when they are looking forward to trading pro. Most times, it is always good to know what you have in plan for a way out even before you step in. In that way, if there is any issue, you will know how to pick up your shoe, dust it and set out with speed.

Before when I buy a coin and drop down in value, I would just wait and hold on to it but then sometimes I would wait for months for it to rise again and since I am just a newbie, I didn't really notice that the coin is just hyped during that time I bought it and I bought almost in top so it would be hard for it to go back again on that price. I realize my mistake and sold at a loss which is quite a significant loss and with that is a significant lesson as well. As I continue to trade, there are times when I would buy again a coin because of hype and then panic sell when it goes down in value. I do regret doing it and later on realize again my mistake so for now, I would just stick to my plan of not getting into hype and have a trading plan and would not listen to those shills.

I must confess that in most cases I panic like a crazy. It doesn't mean that I'm crying or running from corner to corner, of course. But my heart is beating fast. And then I try to keep myself calm and find the best decision to solve the problem. And it always works

I really panicked before hardfork some time ago, I sold almost all my bitcoin because of the rumors circulating full of uncertainty, news from China did not affect my attitude because previously had been accustomed to face bad news since the SEC did not approve bitcoin in March.

To panic when you are losing money from what you expected profit I think is normal. For me, I use to remain calm and hold until it crosses the percentage of stop lose which I believe I can no longer endure on my investment before I will now sell at lose. This is something which all the traders need to learn and understand as early as possible. Only then they can manage to earn a good amount of money and profit. I think there is no room for getting panic or losing your patience in the world of trading. The moment you lost your control on your nerves, you are going to suffer a big loss. So remain calm. Even you are calm the trades will going to affect your mind but as long as you can make profit thats it and its good better than to panic in terms pf panic buying or selling, always obaserve the market and analyze before making any moves . Some negative situations can be very shitty you know and it is normal to get scared a little but try as much as possible to quickly overcome it, make a good decision and move on. You are right that panic will not help and the only positive side to every negative one is your ability to learn from the mistakes you made and see how you can do it perfectly when it comes at you again. We all panic at some stage of our life because we all have fears. Humans can't run away from this as we have heart which is full of all type of emotions. Like you have said, it is normal to get frightened but what is important that a person must not make any decision when his feelings are ruling his senses. That's all. We become tough due to these feelings and fears are basically the alerts which warn us about the dangers before they really happen.

I don't panic. The worst thing you can do when trading is to panic. If you want to lose all of your money, feel free to panic sell or buy a few times a day for one week... hahaha.
I don't think anyone is like that. People do panic every once in a while and that's normal. Its part of your experience in becoming an efficient trader to know how to ride situations that can cause panic I agree. You're not human if you don't panic. It's okay to feel that but after you felt that just let go, breath in and think it's all usual like there's nothing to worry. Because if panic eats you, you be able to do things unnecessarily. Even pro traders do panic or some of them just exit ,take the profit and leave the market i have a mentor who do that things they don't stay in a very volatilte hype market but others do use to take short trades which is very risky .And i do panic also sometimes or called FOMO . It is quite a natural thing to get panic at the time when you notice that your money is at the stake or anything like that. That is the point where experience comes into play. You need to remain cool and calm at the time when there comes such kind of situation. You need to control your nerves so that it may not have any negative effect on you.

You are right in this regard. People often panic when they see the prices going down. You shouldn’t be doing this because it is the matter of fact that whenever there is business there would be huge risks. And businesses are played over decisions and being panicked you are nothing to make wise and profitable results. We walk thru cryptocurrency world, where things go up and down so fast that sometime we can't keep up. When people start to walk path of cryptocurrency trading, they are bound to make mistakes here and there. That is path of learning. Most people think that fear and panic are the same, but that is wrong. Fear is primal instinct of all humans. People fear many things, in this case it is fear of losing money. But we should not be ashamed of our fears, we should get to know them. So that when they show them self, we would know they are there, and we will not lose control over our self. If we do not know when we are afraid, we will make a mistake or even worst lose control over our self. When we lose control that is Panic. People are capable of many things when they are in panic, and that could lead to many bad things. Panic is one of worst enemies in humans life, and that means in trading business as well.

I don't panic like screaming or get stressed out, once a trade goes really bad I always keep a calm mind and calculating how to tackle the situation. I have experienced the worst but I still keep a level head
I don’t know which coins you are dealing with but if it is bitcoins and then getting panicked is incomprehensible. The dumps of bitcoin are very temporary and they are the indicators of hard pumps in the near future. All the veterans rush toward buying bitcoin when they are in dumping phase then getting panicked and this is the reason they are richer than us at present.

In my part, I would rather choose to hold on with my coin because panic selling leads to wrong decision also at the time that the coin decreases its value, that is our time to buy since the value goes down. The biggest mistake what most people make is that they buy when they see price is going high and as soon as it start to dip, they become panic and sell at a lower price.

That is a natural thing indeed. but when we can withhold our patience and also keep the peace then I am sure that we can get the best result. panic becomes one of the big problems for many people. people who panic often make mistakes in every vital decision they make. as you say when we panic then the decision we take is very unreasonable. we sell at a cheap price and then buy it at an expensive price. this is what causes us to be able to control the panic.

I don't know why should panic and all.The people who are using and know about bitcoin will never ever panic and all.Since many millionaire and billionaire are made by keeping the bitcoin at the panic time or low reach value time. So just avoid panic when the price reaches low value.

Exactly what the guy said. Was invested in gno, price went down and panic went up invested in icn, price went down but no panic and these are just 2 examples. Not enough research leads to panic. If you buy the "hype" without really understanding and believing the project expect to feel the panic. Double inform yourself before going into a new investment.
