Hey all, registered because I just started digging for doge. Seems like fun so far. Not really in it for the money, just thought I'd give this mining thing a try.

Today has been bad day for doge. Massive dumping on cryptsy at 60 satoshi. It's a long way to the moon, but I hope doge survives in a long run.

Dont doge for the monies, doge for the moon. All those who are dumping aren't making much and will never get to visit the moon. Doge has potential, I just hope people don't take it too seriously, its a fun way to get into mining though and the community is helpful

What a hell? Is that Earthcoin total scam or what? I got around 2k coins in 5 hours with 750kh/s. I thought I should get 50k in a day. I smell rats.

I'm excited to get into the alt coin mining with everyone! I realize that it's not going to be exactly possible for me to get into Bitcoin mining because of the cost of asic miners and the difficulty.. so coming from a general 1 GPU perspective, having the opportunity to get into this early while alt coins are going up and down is awesome.

I think there's potential so long as you're patient, smart and a little lucky.. don't go all dreamy-eyed and have high expectations.

Hello Everybody I have been mining GlobalCoin for 7 days. I solo mined for 2 days and got 19 blocks, I am now pool mining due to the rise in difficulty. The next difficulty is predicted to be 0.2 it is 6 now and still catching blocks with the pool. I have 3 R9 270X cards hashing at 475 each. I followed the directions provided on the forum to set everything up and it worked on the first startup. I would like to encourage you to mine GlobalCoin. The devs have a lot of plans for Jan 2014. I think its going to be a strong player in the Alts. I started this as a hobby and it has quickly become an obsession.

So with all the new alt-coins out, which do you see holding value in the long run? Its seem funny how quick some of these are making up ground. Such as DogeCoin in the last few days exploding.

Doge has done well and is slowing down a little now. Earthcoin seems to have gained some good ground pretty quickly. It's hard to say which will hold value in the long run. The ones that people will accept as payment for goods and services. Emunie looks technically promising.

Is NXT Nextcoin less secure as it does not use proof of work at all ?
Without proof of work does it mean that there is no possibility of a 51% attack being successful ?
What if more then half of the founders collude together... could they game the system ?
Please someone answer as i am quite tempted to invest as NXT don't need high powered computers to run.

I started this as a hobby and it has quickly become an obsession.
The same thing happened to me. From 400khash to 7,5mhash in less than 9 months. We'll see where the profitability goes. I'll probably upgrade from 40nm to 28nm later next year.

It´s hard knowing what altcoin to put your kh/s on, i just started today and have about 5k EAC but it was fun getting your first coins in your wallet. now i have one GPU at 572kh/s on EAC and one at the same speed at some new fedoracoin which i already have some 150k coins in, but i guess that coin won´t survive .
