Hi Coinmarket cap.

Should not there be a warning at Darkcoin? Something like premined 2.0 or 3.0.

Their blockreward algorithm: "Block reward: controlled by 2222222/(((Difficulty+2600)/9)^2)". See: http://www.darkcoin.io/intro.html Is just another form of premined scam. Because as soon as many people start mining this coin the block reward goes to zero. Example at 100 difficulty the block reward is ~25 coins. At current difficulty of 7561 the block reward is around 1 coin. Making the few people that mined in the first few weeks effectively preminers!

Cheers, T

Hi Tyron,

so this was worth creating a new account here? Anyway, interesting concept. Very interesting dynamic. So the fewer miners the more creation? So x10 in mining means /100 in rewards for all means /1000 rewards per miner. This is a very aggressive feedback loop and I am pretty sure it is not at all sustainable. What if value goes up x100? Mining will only go up x5. This means the incentive to attack this coin grows with its value as mining will essentially stay small. If that is the idea behind DarkCoin (because they draw their security elsewehere (merged mining?)), this could be a nice formula.

Hello!
Dreamcoin link in https://coinmarketcap.com/all.html is broken. It should lead to http://dreamcoin.fi/ (instead of http://dreamcoin.me).
Could it be fixed, Please.

Hi Tyron,

so this was worth creating a new account here? Anyway, interesting concept. Very interesting dynamic. So the fewer miners the more creation? So x10 in mining means /100 in rewards for all means /1000 rewards per miner. This is a very aggressive feedback loop and I am pretty sure it is not at all sustainable. What if value goes up x100? Mining will only go up x5. This means the incentive to attack this coin grows with its value as mining will essentially stay small. If that is the idea behind DarkCoin (because they draw their security elsewehere (merged mining?)), this could be a nice formula.

Minimum subsidy is 5 but yes the formula has successfully repelled giant industrial farms etc from raping the coin and taking mining away completely from small miners like ASICs have done to BTC and LTC. It is designed this way on purpose and people still mine it with 4x 280x type of setups on p2pools in a decentralized way. Just like it should be in the current era of farms and multipools.

Darkcoin has an ever growing cult of haters. The regulars and early adopters have endured a barrage of attacks on them since the very first day. Those in denial when DRK was a few cents only get louder and louder with increasing valuation and are expected to get even louder down the road with anticipated augmentation of the Dark eco system. There was even a PSA post on r/bitcoin today calling Darkcoin a scam just like this 1 post wonder insinuated.

At the same time there is tremendous media coverage from coindesk to wired to BBC!!  On the positive side the following markets have been added and hopefully CoinMarketCap adds them for Darkcoin

Feedback/suggestions welcome.

Notes:
  • Updated every 5 minutes.
  • Marketcap = Price x Total Supply

Yeah, their block explorer suddenly converted their supply units to satoshis.  Disabled for now, and I'm working on an automatic kill switch for glitches like these.
