In order to backup, do I need to backup only the wallet.dat?
yes and It is recommended to use encrypted wallet in case it moves to unwanted hands they can not take ONIONs unless they know the password you used.

You can now Update ONION WalletWhy it may be needed? If you lose your ONION Wallet for some reasons like changing new computer, crashes or decided to use new ONION wallet address You can do it any time by simply re-applying with new ONION wallet
- Before applying again you must update from bitcointalk.org profile area old ONION address with new ONION wallet address.
- You will need to use again your bitcointalk userid and your new ONION wallet address at application page
So can use application page here to update ONION wallet if you need https://deeponion.org/apply.phpand if become successful will return you screen like below:

crypto-rainbow, in reply to the staggering amount of newbie accounts who would like to get in the DeepOnion cryptocurrency, open a faucet or award someone with a bounty for opening up a nice faucet. Faucet should pay out small amounts similar to staking (0.01-0.05). for protection, one must think about running this on clearnet with IP protection. but this is debatable.

I'm really disappointed with this airdrop. Which is basically a signature campaign.
But that's a nice idea for distribution Could also think about adding more means of distribution: faucet, giveaway campaigns, bounty campaigns, bug hunter rewards, service developer bounties and so on

I've read carefully the 1st post and now I have a question. 1) I just need to wear a signature to participate? 2) If I set the signature today, will I participate in 1st airdrop?

If someone opens faucet we can donate ONIONs i see no problem there. I will add Bounty for first faucet in the OP soon.

1 Yes 2 No because you need to be jr member if you can reach jr member level today tomorrow in few days then it can be yes we will accept application during 40 weeks We will be generous and accept people until last date for the first round but the second one we will enforce rule (90% percent hold beside daily signature checks) if userid fails, will be excluded from following rounds. Those who hold from beginning to the end will be extra rewarded by Founding Member badge at planned ONION Vote central for the future of steps of ONION coin. --- Faucet Bounty added to the OP with ACTIVE status

I'm really disappointed with this airdrop. Which is basically a signature campaign. Dev is doing a very good marketing job though and community for this coin is pretty big If the airdrop is a signature campaign then this thread should be in the marketplace, not here Well, after doing some research I realized that it's some kind of hybrid. Dev promise to airdrop most of the premine. 40 rounds (1 round per week, it's 270 days, almost a year). There's interesting requirement for the airdrop (user join date + requirement to hold 90% of airdropped coins)... I've read carefully the 1st post and now I have a question. 1) I just need to wear a signature to participate? 2) If I set the signature today, will I participate in 1st airdrop?

Those who hold from beginning to the end will be extra rewarded by Founding Member badge at planned ONION Vote central for the future of steps of ONION coin. Thanks for the quick reply. I need a few posts to become Jr. member and I will add the signature. I think it will be great if you add more details to OP post. Also, you need to clarify few things: 1) What are the stakes for different forum ranks? Are these even? 2) If you leave the airdrop program once (lets say you've found very cool signature bounty and you want to participate), you cannot join again in future with this user ID? Sorry if these questions were answered before. Maybe you need to make FAQ section about airdrop...

The factor is based on the member type, and is in the following table: MembershipType | | Factor | Junior Member | | 0.8 | Member | | 0.9 | Full member | | 1 | Sr. member | | 1.1 | Hero member | | 1.2 | Legendary member | | 1.3 |
Rules are actually pretty clear and given in the OP https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2006010.0- One person can register using one account, if it is found that multiple accounts belong to the same person are registered, all these accounts will be banned from airdrop.
- You must put the DeepOnion promotion signature, and avatar (for full member and above) in your bitcointalk account, all the time during the airdrop promotion period. If for whatever reasons the signature removed during the period, that user account will be disqualified for future distributions (even you put them back).
- Junior member and above are eligible for applying, newbie is not qualified.
- All accounts registered after July 12, 2017 is not qualified.
- Negative trust account, stolen accounts are disqualified.
- Dev team has the rights to reject any accounts to participate with or without a reason (of course dev team will not abuse the right, but dev team has the final say on it)
- To avoid quick dumps, all accounts receiving distributions will need to keep 90% of the coins received on the account, during the whole distribution/airdrop period. Any move results greater than 10% of the airdropped coin on the account will disqualify the account from receiving more coins in the future distributions. Coins received from other means such as mining, bought from exchange etc are not limited and can be freely traded.
- To receive airdrop, bitcointalk account must be active account, and is required to post at least 10 valid posts per week with more than 50 characters in each post. Links and quotes are not counted as post content
- If your membership status increases from jr to member etc. you will be paid according to new member status in the following rounds
We want to dominate we don't want to be in competition so we have higher discipline that's all simply. So if a user want to quit any time and use another coin promo in the signature can do so, rest people can own and hold more ONIONs!

I have started something quite interesting. I received 10 onions from forum and used those to drive a bumper sticker campaign. I've created and printed a few already and will be distributing those to family and friends. I have also donated 1 onion to family and friends to attached the bumper sticker to their car and host the wallet on their pc. I hope the devs are ok with this. The link to the printable version of the bumper sticker can be found here. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2HfXP0O8wQgc2F6MmJRb0JjZUkHere are some pics. https://photos.app.goo.gl/NcYGEXSt2ub2xDCu2If lucky and I'm part of the airdrop I'll use more Onions to promote this campaign. This is a great coin and i would love to see it succeed.
