As a newcomer I just find it fascinating that everyone seems so confident in BTC. Why is that? In my limited experience transactions are slow and very expensive compared to other cryptos, say ETH. It's an honest question, please do educate me!

I believe that they're popular mainly because well it was the first of all cryptocurrencies to be made. Honestly most of the other coins are scams and greedy ways that the developers make money. The only other coin I can think of that isn't a scam are dogecoins! What do you think?
Aside from being the very first cryptocurrency, bitcoin also has a reputation that it is taking care of over the past few years. We all know how expensive bitcoin right now so we should really expect that it would be very famous. The convinience and the security it gives can also be a thing that makes bitcoin more popular to bitcoin since they all want that feature. |

It sure is, but does that mean anything? Many pioneers and big names in other markets have disappeared without a trace (remember when Blockbuster was a thing?) And wouldn't new investors rather be scared away by the volatility and the fees? |

I think it is all because of its value. We all know how expensive the value of bitcoin is right now and even though the value is falling down a bit, people will still keep on patronizing bitcoin up as long as it is giving them financial assistance. We should also be considerate on the capability of bitcoin and its limitation to know if it will work. |

Aside from being the very first cryptocurrency, bitcoin also has a reputation that it is taking care of over the past few years. We all know how expensive bitcoin right now so we should really expect that it would be very famous. The convinience and the security it gives can also be a thing that makes bitcoin more popular to bitcoin since they all want that feature. Is it really that secure though? From the perspective of a newbie (got into crypto in december) the thing that really stood out to me was it going from 18k€ to currently 9k€. Or do you mean "secure" as in "hard to manipulate"? |

Nobody knows who nakamoto shatoshi is. That makes bitcoin impossible to control. can not manage. This is what makes bitcoin popular. Other altcoins have better technology and a bitcoin foundation. However, they have owners. That's the difference

I think everybody believes that which show the road of course he runs is one step ahead and this is the nature. I know Bitcoin is too much popular because well it was the first usages of all cryptocurrency in the world. Bitcoin is the father all of the cryptocurrency. not end here at

I think it's due to their significant 'First Mover Advantage' and how 'Bitcoin' has become synonymous with 'Cryptocurrency' in the Mainstream Media. The significant mining aspect to the coin also means that there will always be a large tech savvy crowd backing it.

According to me the bitcoin being the most trusted digital currency as it is adopted by many nations and other coins are a just scam or the game of few days.
Yes Bitcoin is the most trusted cryptocurriency there is ,but I cannot say that all altcoins are just scam, there are also altcoins you can trust like ETH. |
