I believe that the only person you should trust with your private keys is yourself.

I am very confident in EtherDelta as it deals very quickly and securely. You do not need to wait for confirmation or wait for withdrawal because everything is going on automatically. I've traded a lot on EtherDelta and have a lot of profit from this trading platform

I too was reluctant to import my private keys on etherdelta and hence I created a new wallet and only sent coins that I wanted to trad to that wallet. I sold my Populous tokens there and all went fine. It's confusing to use the interface and it gets stuck at times but you need to remember that you shouldn't use the wallet created on the site but instead import your own myetherwallet which has the tokens you need to sell. The wallet that they create doesn't store any of your coins.

I have traded through etherdelta and I am quite skeptical about its safety when used with my private key. We can not know if they have secretly stored our private keys, once we use the private key on other sites, the risk of loss will increase. But I tried using with my private key on etherdelta to transact my tokens and not have anything dangerous happening so far. However, if you want to be safe then you can create a new wallet on etherdelta and then send your tokens from your main wallet to it for trading.

Hello,

I wanted to try etherdelta to trade my tokens.

Can i trust etherdelta with my Private keys ?

Well, as for me, in my experience, I have not encountered any problem of such in etherdelta and any other well known trading sites. And have been getting good profit. But because i am paranoid, and really skeptical about almost everything, I often empty my exchange wallet and put amounts i only need for trading. That’s how i do things. So i suggest you do the same to prevent regrets.

There are exchanges which are a lot more trusted (like bittrex). Etherdelta has a few scamming stories and I guess in those cases people didn't get any refund and lost the money. What's more, the prices there are sometimes extremely inaccurate. I remember the time recently (even though it lasted for some 15 mins or less) when Blackmoon was worth $0.75 on Liqui and $10 on Etherdelta! I would avoid this exchange and use it only in desperate wish to invest in coins not listed on other markets.

of course, you have to believe in etherdelta when it's going to change your token...
but when your token is in exchange and ethereum is in the wallet, you'd better send your ethereum to the wallet ethereum you never signed up for etherdelta. better be careful because it could be hackers infiltrated to etherdelta.

BIG WINNER!

Is  the OP saying that in order to open an etherdelta account you have to give them your private keys?  My response is NO WAY!  An exchange should never ask your private key.  This sounds scammy to me.  They should be giving you an address to send your coins to, right?

But if you must, as others have said, open a brand new empty wallet, and link that to your account.

This whole thing has my scam alert going off.

Even though i Have never tried this etherdelta, I would suggest not to trust so easily because you were giving them the security of your wallet and I thought it is secured, so why do they need the private key. But if you really want to, then try to make another wallet just to be sure that your coins is safe and use this new wallet for this etherdelta.

Your private key is not broadcast on the network! When you trade on Etherdelta, you interact with smart contract and all your activities are been carried out by miners hashpower. So it is safe if you do not make mistake of doing entirely wrong thing like sending your token to a given smart contract token!

Yes, you can trust any such outfit with your privkeys - insofar as your personal 'sorry for your loss' threshold allows

LOL!  Grin But this is true. Even before the 'sorry for your loss' kind of feeling, try to prepare yourself in advance and accept the possibility of your coins going away with the wind. Anyway, I have not heard of any serious allegations against Etherdelta. Nor have I heard of very serious hacking of private keys with it either.

As far as I know the private key is saved in the cache of the browser, so it will never leave your local pc
Myself, I'm using Etherdelta for months and I have never had any trouble.

Just stay away from scam site which look like the legit Etherdelta site
