WorldCoin has IMHO a name with endless potential.

As a bagholder I would say "sit tight" and accumulate more when you can.
The current price is accumulation friendly Smiley

hi guys
around a  year ago a friend mined some worldcoins for me with his GPU.
after he finished I downloaded the windows wallet which was taking ages to sync. I remember it took more than a day and I stopped, deleted it and sold the coins directly on cryptsy.
Now I have mined some and want to ask if there is a new wallet which syncs faster or I will have to send them to a paper wallet as I want to keep the coins for more than a year.

Wallet takes time to download because of the big blockchain. You can download the wallet from http://www.worldcoinalliance.net/worldcoin-wallets/

Thank you.
I will prefer the paper wallet then.
I have found those two
http://worldcoinaddress.org/
https://walletgenerator.net/?currency=WorldCoin

is there another one with better design?

We have implemented direct download option in the wallet wizard so that download time is reduced significantly, there are also options to install wallets on external drives. Also for others that link will not exist as of last week, the website was revamped so please go here http://worldcoin.global/worldcoin-quick-start/

Hello sorry for the late answer, please everybody register to the new forum at forum.worldcoin.global.
New web page in beta at www.worldcoin.global
Look at the threads on Development section to understand what we are doing this year.
We update progress every week to keep you guys informed

Please download newest wallet 1.1.0, as Worldcoin said, you can download the chain directly in a compressed format, the installer will  compare hashes and install correctly in the directory you want. The process is a lot faster than trying to sync from the beginning.
But more important is that when the next version is out (A major version, complete refactor, check Development thread on forum for more details and screenshots) the wallet will automatically detect that a new version is available and will suggest to install it. This way you will always have the last version.

Although it's great to have your own forum best practices would indicate mirroring everything in this thread as well.

Personally I'm invested in over 30 coins and BTCtalk is a more convenient place to get updates instead of logging into 30 different forums.

Think about it Smiley

Forum subscribers is one of the indicators we use to determine our growth ( we purged old forum accounts  and we started from zero ), that is why we push people to subscribe.
Another indicator we use is wallet adoption, In dec 2014 we had 69 users of new wallet, now we have like 960 ( different ip's )

It is very important to us have a quantifiable way to measure our progress and adoption.

but you have a fair point, so what if we create the links here for some important news, they will link to our forum or web page, but people will have access from here. Do you think it's a fair compromise ?

960 wallets sounds pretty good. IMO, WDC does have one of the best wallet.

fair enough Grin

Links with a short description would be fine.

And take into account that we are not making absolutely any marketing efforts, not until the framework is ready and some services are already integrated in Worldcoin Business Center.
Our new policy is develop first, promise later Smiley.
But of course we release some details of our  progress on web page and in the forum.

VOTE FOR

Vote for Worldcoin to be added at Coinomat.com https://coinomat.com/coinvoting.php
Coinomat.com offers bank transfers, withdrawals to Visa/Master cards, and custom debit cards for all the cryptocurrencies on its platform.
On top of that, instant exchanges to all supported cryptocurrencies and e-currencies are available.

Coinomat.com pioneered instant crypto to crypto exchange in 2013 and now also offers various crypto to fiat solutions to provide additional liquidity for supported cryptocurrencies. Coinomat was the first project to offer this and it will always remain our top priority.

Normally, to withdraw to a bank account you need someone to send you the funds from their local bank, so it can be a problem if there aren't many local exchanges happening. Traditionally, transfer costs are a hassle, can cost up to 3% of the amount and take 2-3 business days.

With Coinomat you can easily send funds to any Visa or Master card in the world instantly, with no wait time.

Various fiat exchange features:

- Instant exchanges to all other cryptos on our platform.

- Withdrawal to any Visa or Master card issued by any bank in the world.

*This is a great way to provide your coin with liquidity, especially for users who live in the countries with less crypto exposure.

Crypto purchasing and selling with bank transfer

If you need to buy altcoins with bank transfers it can be a real problem and there arn't a lot of providers out there. We enable our users to load their Coinomat account with a bank transfer and buy any coin we support. To mitigate volatility effects, first the account is credited and only after that, a user can purchase the crypto of his choice.
Transfers from most countries are accepted (except for US)

Withdrawal to a custom bank card

We offer custom debit cards which can be loaded with cryptocurrency and work in ATM's all over the world. Card costs $40 and are delivered within a week after successful order (users need to provide Personal ID and Proof of residence). The card is not tied to a personal bank account and works more like stored value card. After the card is delivered, a user is able to load it from their Coinomat account.

Offering these services, we cover basically all major ways to buy and sell your crypto. Liquidity is what the cryptocurrency scene is lacking at the moment, and providing more fiat liquidity can be a great popularity booster for Bitshares.

Head over to our voting page and get things started!
