The new client certainly seems to be innovative, but it seems to be missing some basic features, such as a transaction list! How do we easily add a new address? I also like to be able to use coin control as well, so hopefully these items will appear very soon. IMO, I would say this client was released a little bit too early lacking some basic add-in controls. I've installed this on Windows. I like the program installed in Program Files, and the block chain in the same place as other alt coins. My documents directory is backed up to cloud storage and I really don't need the block chain eating up that space. I have changed this in the installer, which I had to run as administrator. Presumably, I'm going to have to run the program as administrator to perform an upgrade. The program fails to open the log file, because this presumably is located in the program files directory along with any automated backups. Could this app be made a little more windows standard friendly please?

Hi! a) It was stated from the beginning that only basic components would be developed first, just to test framework design, so if design should be changed because of undiscovered bug, we only needed to change a few components. Happily enough this didn't happen so we can continue developing. Next component will be "transaction list", also i will make a blog detailing how you can make it yourself, the idea was to release the wallet with the blog so people can start understanding how to develope their own components and scratch their own itches, but time beat me again . From the console you can do whatever you like b) We will develop many, many components, UI is designed to contain hundreds of them (literally) c) One of the objectives was that it should be installed easily on an USB or external disk so all software should work between one folder if needed, side effect is that it has some trouble to work on protected directories, its better to install it on non-protected directories

Thanks for the quick reply. Out of all the alt coin wallets I have, this one seems to be the first to seriously move away from the standard BitCoin wallet design, and indeed appears to be a potentially very powerful tool. It also shows that their is some serious development effort being put into making WDC successful.

Thank you very much for your comments and feedback! indeed, i will detail a little about our strategy so you guys understand why we are doing these thing: - Keep the core very close to Bitcoin/Litecoin wallet taking advantage of their improvements at the kernel level, for security reasons this is the best approach, also, a lot of improvements are being made with quantum computing technology and BTC guys are the only ones actively researching this topic so we will be ready too when the time comes. Most little teams out there that are diverging too much from bitcoin wallet will feel the pain later, because they don't have enough manpower to handle code of this level of complexity.
- Around the kernel we built heavy infrastructure to simplify the development process for developers, hiding crypto details from them; this means that you don't need to know crypto internals to develop crypto applications inside our wallet (crypto theory is damn hard). With time this will attract developers because there is a lot of passive manpower that are not touching crypto because they feel intimidated by their complexity (c++ also doesn't help). In our case web developers will feel in home because they can apply directly their Java Script knowledge to develop components inside the wallet. Hence we changed the name to Worldcoin Business Center (WBC) because the standard wallet is just a single module on our software
- We are building a lot of useful integrated services around WBC; the idea is that in the future you do everything you need without leaving the wallet ... namely buying coins, reading news, explorer... well you get the idea. The side effect of this is that more nodes will be active securing the network in a given period of time.
Summary: we will have absolutely all BTC features, with a lot of services integrated to the software becoming effectively BTC v2.0 that a lot of passive manpower will be able to exploit

http://worldcoin.global/so-you-want-to-dance-with-the-hippo-part-ii-about-basic-dancing-techniques/Objective of the exercise: develop a component which retrieves last transactions from the wallet, converts them to american dollars and calculates the VAT according to a predefined parameter. Also we want to refresh automatically the transaction list whenever the exchange rate changes, all this in less than 100 lines of code (70 to be exact) using a text editor the article shows the power of our new wallet that no wallet in crypto-sphere has not even Bitcoin

Also i posted that there is a new version with 'Transaction List' component added (if you are using 2.0.0 you can use 'Updater" component to update the wallet) Whats more in the post above yours, i explain how to implement a non trivial transaction list component using only a text editor
