I dont know if its bug with the drivers or the 9.8 version of claymore but on about half my machines

the hash rate goes from 28ms or so to 8 and stays there till i have to reboot the rigs

I find that if I go into WattMan and toggle 'Voltage Control' and hit apply, the card will go back to hashing at full rate.  You don't have to actually change any voltage settings, but just flip the mode it unsticks the card.

I've been having to do this to my RX480 cards for months.  Not so much for the RX470s.

The driver gives a nice update to my Rx 570 cards,
but I noticed that the power usage pulling from the wall goes crazy.

Before I had five rx 570 at 1105/2200 850mV cpu/mem voltage and it pulled 730W from wall.

After the driver update with the same settings I get 2.2MH/s more but the voltage from the wall is going crazy. Jumping from 530W up to 980W, does someone know the reason and how to fix it?
Did anyone else notice this?

 Huh
My 4 rx 470 is with bios mod,
To upgrade do I have that back to the original bios?
Or can I upgrade with mod bios?

gleidsonrpm, you don't have to flash original bios. Just update the driver.

Yes, voltage control does not work from Watttool or Claymore with this driver update. You need to use afterburner or trixx to downvolt your cards for the moment, or mod it in the bios.

I am first timer. I have latest official update from AMD, modded bios with changed timings. and used atikmdag-patcher

To update, do I need to use again atikmdag-patcher to UNPATCH and restart.

Then update the driver with BETA ? and then use again atikmdag-patcher. Am I right ? Or else ? Thx. If I would have used also Afterburner, would I need to reset all to original, before updating, or will be saved?

So update went fine.

from 217 Mh/s UP to 230 Mh/s for my 8 GPU rig.

but all the good news ended then checked the watmeter and it was 1460w from wall instead of 1200w.

AB 4.4.0 beta 15 has no changes on wattmeter from wall while adjusting core voltage...

So nobody tried this out with their R9 280X yet?

Why would they?

Because if they fixed it on the 280X it would hash at 28MH/s like the Epoch #1

Hash rate reported by the pool and the miner are the same.

Grin Cheesy Cheesy
RX 480 29mh/s
same me. msi 480 gaming x 4Gb hynix Vram
Can up to ~31mhs but miner can't work long time and to use total 580W . 3 vga+main... . In the CPUZ is 120~130W

I adjusted speed down to 29mhs and to use total 465W . CPUZ use 83W/Vga

Your consumption is very high
And had to go back to the previous driver
Because of the error it crashes with code 52 because it is not signed: \

Has anyone tried this using Watt tool? Or is Afterburner the only overclock option available?

on some cards you can use the claymore parameters to control things, on others only trixx works, or maybe AB 4.4.0 B15
So to know which one works for you , you have to try out all of them.
