For Builders
You can build "scenes" in Decentraland where you own or have rights to build on land. Scenes can contain buildings, objects, lights, vegetation, and other content. Decentraland's VR is based on WebVR and A-Frame. Building scenes is done in the Decentraland Editor. Content can consist of "primitives" (e.g. cubes, spheres) created directly in the Editor, or by importing object files into the Editor that have been created in external 3D modelling tools. For Developers
Ownership of parcels of land is recorded on the Ethereum blockchain. The content of scenes consists of a hierarchy of content objects, called "entities", based on the A-Frame technology standard. Content is assembled into a scene using the Decentraland Editor, which is a modified extended version of the A-Frame Inspector. Documentation for the Inspector at A-Frame and its GitHub repository can provide useful information, but the Decentraland Editor works somewhat differently. The scenes created in the Decentraland Editor are stored in the Interplanetary File System (IPFS). In-world collaboration consists of text chat, audio, and coordination of scene changes which are communicated among collaborators or visitors using WebRTC.
