Many new exchanges, books, pools, and changes to the code these days, but it won't affect the current value.. Atleast, not positive. What is your opinion about how to increase the value of DigitalCoin? As i'm almost all-in on DigitalCoin I start to get a little bit worried with the current (decreasing) price. Not that I'm going to sell any though, I'll keep them untill the end (if I ever survive that ).

Love the new "latest messages" section of the DGC forum! http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.phpOne question to the bitcointalk crowd: do you still mine DGC, and if so, which pool do you use? I'm planning to get back into scrypt mining soon and finally buy one of the newer generation Asic blades. I just wish they would run standalone like the S1 Antminer. Oh well.

Not that I'm going to sell any though, I'll keep them untill the end (if I ever survive that ). Thanks for your support of Digitalcoin Don007. I am also concerned about the current value, and likewise I'm heavily invested in Digitalcoin. The coin and its community have suffered some setbacks lately and this has had obvious negative pressure on the price of Digitalcoin. There is a new grassroots movement starting within the Digitalcoin community involving some long time members and several new members. These folks are dedicated, persistent individuals who are developing strategies to revitalize this coin and its community. The price of Digitalcoin may go lower yet because the emphasis currently is focused on fundamentals that will establish a solid core of the community who are set on moving the coin forward. Additionally, there have been some recent updates to Digitalcoin's core technology, contributions from some new developers, and interest from major investors. The Digitalcoin community will not concentrate on the price of the coin alone, but more so on long-term existence and value. Consider the current low price as an investment opportunity, but not if you're expecting a return in the next few days. Stop by Digitalcoin's forum and offer some thoughts. http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.phpTT

hardforking really wouldn't do anything, at worst if we NEEDED to save our network we could merge with Litecoin, i'd think. Also, pump n dump coins are trending towards scrypt again. PoS is regarded as unsafe overall, and scrypt is the most popular (by miner count) out there. scrypt works fine. no need to change it imo.

Definitely agree, any of the newer algos are going to make it harder to secure the hashrate in the long run. Scrypt already had a lot of resources that we can tap into pretty easily. Just need to focus on the DGC Foundation and getting that self-sufficient to make decisions.

The best thing DGC can do is significantly drop the block reward and max cap.
Reducing supply is always going to lead to a higher long term price.

12 might be a good number for block reward.

I honestly find this argument somewhat of a trap. You can always drop the quantity to increase scarcity; but that doesn't necessarily mean that will breed value. I think you can get a short-term price hike, but Alt-coins don't have value because you can't actually spend them like you can a Bitcoin. If we can't solve that problem it won't matter how many or few you mine/mint. They're always going to be worthless in the long-run.

I agree, lowering the block reward again won't give DGC much credibility in the eyes of new miners and potential investors. I like the idea Tsquared had in the forum of pointing more mining power to DGC. Many of the dedicated early DGC miners have stopped gpu mining but never upgraded to Asics, is my guess. I think this will change very soon.

I just saw the digitalcoin thread on page 1 of the alt ANN and I had a moment of nostalgia. I haven't thought about digitalcoin in ages. I remember it was Cryptsy's first shining star when they were THE alt exchange. So many of these scrypt alts from spring/summer 2013 fading into obscurity. Hope digitalcoin can remain relevant in the years to come.

Reducing the block rewards and supply = SCAM COIN MOVE. Don't do it. Right, top coins like Dark and NAUT did it and they're trading 1,000 times higher than DGC but that's a scam, keep diluting DGC into oblivion. Hahhaaaa. Edit: Some of you idiots have never heard of a Stock Buy-Back. lol

No, shit? Maybe you can read the caption under it. ROFL! That's funny! Did you piss off an admin or something? Seriously though, I see there are still exchanges that would like to list Digitalcoin. When all the madness that is crypto trading today, settles, Digitalcoin will still be there. No need to fix something that isn't broken. TT

TT No, there was a hack last year using the avatar so of course, Theymos doesn't make enough money off this site to fix it so instead we're all stuck with our old pics. In my case I have to hear pervs talk smack about my little girl. DGC is a good coin - but it needs to be more active given there will be thousands of coins next year. I said this last year when there were only 12 coins and was called crazy for it. Reducing the inflation and dilution is one good move but they also need to do more.
