I'm glad I'm holding my DGC. A big marketing push is just around the corner as mentioned by Baritus and CryptoAve is also due anyday now pending the BTC malleability related fixes. Good things come to those that wait  Smiley

Thats what makes me loose faith...everything is always 'just around the corner'

The marketing campaign was announced by Baritus on Jan24 to begin the week of Jan27.  So far nothing.

That's why I was skeptical that CryptoAve (that has been just around the corner since August) would open on the stated date of Feb10.  Baritus used the bad BTC news to justify the delay...but ask yourself if he really planned to launch on Feb10 wouldn't it have made just a pinch of sense to start the marketing campaign before that date to get the news out beyong the core DGC/SRC group.

So Feb10 came and went and opening re-announced to Feb14 with little more than a wisper.  Still no marketing.  Today is Feb14 and the news is the opening is delayed again.  Big surprise.

UNOCS 2.0

I'm backing up and loading the truck up on dgc right now.  But I agree with all points above.  The dev(s) have to know the fate of the coin is ultimately in their hands.  And despite the fact we do appreciate their work and tentative revamp of the coin, the constant procrastination and push-backs on updates is getting a bit tiresome.  There is still a ton of life left on this coin, but please don't cut it short by losing investor confidence!

Have you ever had a complex piece of work / research paper due? It takes a lot of time and isn't quite as plannable as one would like. There are also things that are beyond the control of the dev as in paper work and legal papers. Deadlines are essential nevertheless. It was the right decision not to open in the middle of a BTC DDoS Network attack. However, whatever reasons are responsible for not launching the site on the said day is irrelevant. If somone gives a deadline it doesn't mean you as a small time holder suddenly are entitled to have demands. If you don't trust in DGC you should sell. It's as simple as that. By the way, I wouldn't base my financial decisions on the fact if the exchange opens sooner or later.

I saw the beta and it was fine. It's not good to have too high expectations, but CryptoAve will certainly do what it's supposed to. Be an exchange to buy and sell your DGC for fiat. I'm looking forward to that.

I bought some DGC a while ago but to be honest I agree with the statement that it is starting to look like PXC and UNOCS. They had a nice logo, good looking forum and a working Beta as their exchange. We all know how that ended. The constant promise was that good things will come etc. I might me wrong but the pattern is similar.

What the hell are PXC and Unocs? They even sound like they are scamcoins.

What do you guys think the opening of CryptoAve will do with the price of DGC? The last week, the price has only decreased.

I didnt expected that..

That's BTC going down. honestly I think cryptoave will only give a small bump at first, what it does is provide an avenue (pardon the pun) for growth, it's not going to directly infuse cash into the DGC economy. that takes time and investor interest, which i'm confident DGC will get thanks to Baritus' hard work. DGC will certainly be a step ahead of the rest in having a dedicated fiat exchange, which NO recent altcoin has. You really can't underestimate the importance of tying a coin to fiat. CryptoAve is pretty much a guaranteed success because of the business it is and the environment it's tailored to, however the correlation to DGC's price is not 1:1. If you're expecting to get rich out of nowhere I'm afraid you'll be constantly disappointed throughout life (or perhaps not, who knows with BTC? Tongue)

No one cares about the success of DGC and CryptoAve more than I do. I am the largest stakeholder in both and believe me all decisions are made for the best interest of DGC and C.Ave (since my interests are directly correlated).

As a rational holder, I will not launch CryptoAve when the most important network for its success is experiencing attacks(BTC). I believe that I have a working solution for the transaction malleability. I am implementing and testing it. Everything else is ready to go, including the custom built software which has been tested in both Closed and Open Betas.

Digitalcoin miners, try our new merged mining pool at http://manicminer.in

What is different with this pool? It is the first one implementing merged mining with scrypt coins, this means you can mine different coins at the same time without losing any performance. Basically it is free money!!! Right now we are mining all of these coins, all of them at the same time:

LiteCoin
PesetaCoin
UnitedScryptCoin
HunterCoin
OrgCoin
CatCoin
DogeCoin
PotCoin
DigitalCoin

You can multiply easily your profit by mining all of them!!

just to point out^ that technically isnt true. you will be mining either digitalcoin, potcoin or catcoin. and getting huntercoin, pesetacoin and united scrypt coin (of which perhaps only huntercoin will get on an exchange as the others are pretty much stuck at high diff and offer no advantages over coins like dgc)

Technically, this is disappointing as you will only be able to mine either one of these:

    LiteCoin: 3333
    CatCoin: 3333
    DogeCoin: 3333
    PotCoin: 3333
    DigitalCoin: 3333

together with the other shitcoins noone cares about. Almost as bad as multipool, ending up with crap that creates more work than your time is worth. Too bad.

Almost, but not quite.

Technically you are just mining only one of those (LTC, CAT, DOGE, POT and DGC), but the pool assigns you the one to mine and then shares it with the other miners. You will get all 5 of them, and the pool is supposed to calculate the percentage you get to get the maximum profit. And of course you are also getting the merged mining coins, which not all of them are shitcoins, ORG is, HTC, USC and PTC are NOT shitcoins. And they are free.

Furthermore, if someone decides to add the merged mining code to its coin it can be added easily to the pool.

Do you guys know which exchange is the most popular for Digitalcoins? I'm using crypto-trade but it doesn't look like there's that much volume.

Hey guys, is there any estimate on to when cryptoave.com will finally open?
I've been following this forum for months since I'm a believer in digitalcoin, and people have kept saying that cryptoave would open soon.
Yet, it's still not around, and could maybe take many more months until finished.
What do you guys think?

Hm, unfortunately no date yet.. CryptoAve, you better be heaven for keeping us waiting Smiley

It's sad that the opening has delayed, it's however great that they though about the malleability-fix

{Curently quite inactive as I'm really busy in my private life. I will get back soon!}

The exchange looks good from what I've seen. So, it can't be the programming part really as the site is done (except for the malleability issue). I'm guessing they're still waiting for legal papers.

Hello,

I've completed a fix for BTC processing and we're back on track. I'm now applying that fix across all currencies and testing the processing before launch.

Official Launch Date: February 21

This is a confirmed date. Launch will be on this date regardless of any developments.
