guys anbody having problems with version 1.3 for MAC? Cannot open the new wallet on another mac because its crashing on startup, and also cannot use 1.2 anymore because i cannot find the Spectrecoin folder in my new mac where i could import the wallet.dat... anybody?

At the level you speak, the Spectrecoin wallet works very well.
We can not teach you if you do not know how to use a MAC.
If your questions are serious, you will have our support.
First you must complete your basic operating system learning.

Might be best to just go back to v1.2...since the v1.4 is so close.
Get it back running, learn more about how a mac does wallets ....
then give it a few days after release and touch base with anyone running mac wallet.
Just my suggestion

Spectreproject’s Weekly Summary
Saturday, October 7th – Saturday, October 14th
Slack By the Numbers - Join me in welcoming these new members to the Spectreproject Slack…..hiddenfigure, igrss, carlitoalenia, marsiobr, cryptohodl< /a>, jon-e-d, wilfridkaptoum, jorgecuenca, hodler, timchuk, moisesdelgado, Info, prociltuiprom1970, arovabwon1986, paisitliroup1977, quefusbulkren1985, tarabgadi1972, Kalash, Daniel_Asselmann, CryptoANYTHING, akguy, Titan1024, RC, and Oliver7580.

We continue to draw interest from all around the world. One of these days I need to start of a list of countries represented by our members.

Developer Nuts & Bolts - @jbg reports “testing, testing and more testing going on constantly. Still on original track for release by end of October” ….that’s great news that no major (or minor) bugs are going to stall things.

One thing I know we’ve all learned since @jbg took over as Project  Manager back in June... is that he takes pride in his work and won’t release any code until he’s satisfied.
I know it’s hard waiting and the anticipation is building for everyone.....try to relax, play with your dog….take a walk…v1.4 is coming!

More on the Slack community front - Things are really heating up in the “marketing_xspec” channel  with the release of v1.4 so close.
@rkh has finished the graphics on the new Reddit page and they look fantastic. We invite everyone to drop by for a look. SpectreCoin Redditt . His enthusiasm for Spectreproject nevers seems to end!

Recent members @danbainbridge and @willpower who joined in the last few days are excited by Spectrecoin [xspec] and its potential. As professionals, they’re are offering marketing services and advice at little or no cost  to help promote Spectrecoin [xspec] to a wider audience. This is so recent everything is in the proposal stage….so expect more in next week’s newsletter. Or better yet….come by the marketing channel...things are happening daily.

We’re still on track to launch a two week run on Cryptopia’s “Feature Coin” scroll. It runs Monday to Monday so the first will fire up one week from today. This has always brought results and there’s no reason to think that this run will be any different and working with others’ efforts... won’t grow our community.

Contributions by several community members are making this possible, we still need to reach the cost of the second run on “Featured Coin” and ask you to check the Slack “general_xspec” or “marketing_xspec” channels for how to contribute. Or just dm me. We’ve found a better way than addresses to move the funds to the DOT wallet.

As we approach the One Year Anniversary of the Spectreproject’s ICO launch I can’t tell you how excited I am.
Little did I know, when coming across this project while on my laptop during the Thanksgiving holidays, that I would end up with so many new friends from all around the world.
At the time, researching other privacy coins and what their values were….it just made sense to join.
It still does since xspec like most coins go through the stages ...as they grow their communities, gain distribution and develop their tech to reach their next level….
That’s where we are today!

Happy Spectober!

Beachguy

I've seen some speculation that Spectre might be the coin Palm Beach Confidential is recommending this Friday. Seems like a decent pickup on the chance it is.

Saw that....and wondered.....they could do a lot worse.
They have a method and history of picking way undervalued projects.    Smiley
And are going to announce it tomorrow....Thursday.
It's circulated only to their subscribers.

And either way....Spectrecoin [xspec] time is coming.....it's not even a year old yet.

Last time the price was a little bit under pressure. It would be great if the palm beach confidental guys will announce this. Even if not, the price will start climbing after the release of the v1.4. It´s a great time to buy some more.

I have an issue with my wallet and staking. 2 days ago I purchased around 2k XSPEC, put it in my wallet and unlocked it for staking purposes. Since then, my computer was running 24/7.
The "expected time to earn reward" is changing from 3 days to 2 days back and forth. Network weight is ranging from 7.8 kk - 8.8 kk. Any idea why this is happening and/or when I could expect first staking reward?

Also, will XSPEC make his debut on exchange other than cryptopia?

@matt - no issue, that's just a low number of coins. In POS your balance is on the network competing with other wallets for "reward". Dependent on number and age of coins. Staking is not an "automatic" thing.might want to google POS.
You may also want to consider getting more xspec....its a good time.

Sakura - Thank you for your interest. atm there is no bootstrap, it takes a few hours on a 25 meg cable connection.

I believe you are mistaken....Spectrecoin [xspec] never has been and never will be an airdrop coin.
It is a POS v3 coin and was launched as an ICO late last year.
a new client release is expected by end of October.
You might want to check this week's newsletter

I'm aware what POS is. Also the promised 5 % ROI would suggest with my balance I should accrue at least ~0.26 XSPEC a day. From my understanding staking reward is something around 2 XSPEC, right?
Unfortunately all my funds are locked up in LSK at the moment, hope the rebranding will move the price up, not to mention my plan to get hold of GPU mining rig to mine some altcoins in the hope their price will raise after BTC hard fork.

Hmmm....my laptop fans don't even kick on when I'm only staking....and its about 4 years old intel core duo....certainly not much by todays standards.
My I ask what you consider a lot of memory....we never had anyone ask this question.
what are you running it on.

-edit: whoa....took the time to look it up and it's 7 years old ...time flies huh?   Shocked

Maybe it's because the wallet is currently based on Qt Webkit, which is a web browser framework. Version 1.4 will bring a new GUI based on Qt Widgets that should be more lightweight, more responsive and have less bugs.
