I made a bitcointalk account just to be apart of the spectre community, is it true that because I am a newbie I cannot participate in the ico?

**Im not actually a new member, I just cant remember my old login info. I have been around since the NAV, CRAVE, DARKCOIN days**

The ICO has been over for almost a year now my friend, you are a tiny bit too late! Wink

The ICO is already over, but if you are intersted in buying some Spectrecoins then you can use Cryptopia or Livecoin. Right now you can buy at a really good price, this will not last for long time.

Courtesy Notice
Spectrecoin [xspec]  and the website   Spectreproject is NOT launching an ICO under the name spec  and is not associated in any way, shape or form.

The group spectre.ai is launching an ERC20 token with the ticker [spec] for an exchange project that they hope to produce in the future. They were well aware of the existence of  Spectrecoin and [xspec] that is a privacy coin project....and that it launched in late November/ early December of last year 2016.

They proceeded with their plans anyway, ignoring our requests to reconsider and taking the position that they were somehow "entitled"
to do as they wish.

This has led to some confusion and people coming here and our Slack community asking about tokens.
We regret this and want the crypto currency world to know this is not our fault.

In closing, we would advise extreme caution for anyone thinking of joining a group that has so little consideration for another long time exisitng project, as well as the danger  brought on by the proliferation of ethereum token projects. Especially one that has not even provided a working product.

The failure rate of these projects is extremely high. You may want to start your research here.

xspec is a great coin but has poor marketing. Perhaps this new name stealing coin will help to bring some much needed attention to xspec. At least there are some free bumps to this thread  Grin

No, no, and no. The notice is letting you know that Spectrecoin is not associated with the Spectre.ai ICO. They have simply chosen to try to copy our name.

@sdg777

Not at all, it’s a notice about a completely unrelated project, also called spectre. They are having an ICO this coming week under SPEC, not to be confused with XSPEC (Spectrecoin). Legally, there is no action to force them to change their name in such an open international market subject to diverse jurisdictions. Though most of us in the very small Spectrecoin community consider this to be unethical and unprofessional. Spectrecoin had the name first, and one should approach an ICO who has yet to even consider name overlap research prior to release with extreme caution. It should also be made aware that Spectrecoin is a cryptocurrency unique in technology and spectre.ai is a token which runs on the Ethereum blockchain.

Edit: This coin is certainly not dead, in fact, this coin is just beginning. Stealth addresses becoming default addresses and low power Mobile staking is on its way, followed by the remittance app. Stay tuned and keep those hands strong.  Smiley

Worried about my trust rating? I am too. Bitcointalk users ‘Lauda’ and ‘gmaxwell’ have abused their superior powers in trust system to align their views with the ‘correct views.’ In no legal system in any jurisdiction do we have a definition for what Bitcoin is, they do not have the power to tell us what it is based on the rule of law.

What a bunch of jokers, no idea how to manage a project. Blew a one year lead and now just saying not our fault. One look at their website shows how serious the devs are and how much time they put into the project.

Go crawl back into your hole with your 10 other members and write beautiful code which no one will ever use, while the rest of the world moves forward.

Hoping to see someone also take Xspec and Spectrecoin and then you will put another notice and go back to your hole.

Did not notice this is a moderated thread, go ahead delete this comment and silence it like others who raise any issue. Also suggested new name: Molecoin

On a technical point of view, Spectrecoin seems to have all the elements necessary to compete with the best and also Coin Structure is great. Money flow is missing and it is the essence in creating higher Market Cap and Visibility. Getting listed on quality Exchanges like Bittrex, Binance and so on will help. Maybe name change / Rebranding? Moxxxo dark ? or some word which is very catchy and easy to remember could help creating visibility, magic or luck. Let us Hope things will turn around
. Good luck to all of us.

Nice try! Wink  But the price won't go lower than this. If you want to participate, just buy now and take the profits.

And welcome to bitcointalk, game over!

Monero with over 15,278,662 M token is trading close to $86.50 with Market Cap 1.3  plus Billion $
PIVX with  almost 54,589,273  M coins is trading around $3.13 with Market Cap almost $170.6 Plus Million $
Zcash with 2,497,356 M coin is trading around $236.60 with Market Cap around $590,884,478 Million $
And Spectrecoin with  20,785,264 Million coins is trading around $0.291940 with Market Cap around $6,068,050 Million $.
It is very strange how Market works. SpectreCoin with Tor+obfs4 layer of security is supposed to challenge any competitor.

Yes, here is how the market works: It is based on confidence. Confidence depends on a lot of variables, among them:
  • The time it has existed
  • the quality of the solutions
  • being widely known

We are still relatively young (1) and are not widely known yet (3). Regarding (2), the underlying tech is good, but we still have some bugs in the current wallet, and the tech is being improved as well (ring signature system).

(1) will solve itself as time continues.
(2) will be partially fixed with wallet version 1.4, and the next version 2.0 which will maybe come out in January 2018 that brings an improved ring signature system.
(3) is a matter of marketing, which works best when (2) is already fulfilled, so that we get positive publicity instead of negative.

Taking it together, it will still take some time until we see the price going to the next level. What is required is ongoing development and marketing once we have a robust wallet, which should be the case soon with v1.4.

Btw. the Tor+OBFS4 thing is easy to understand, but it's not the greatest accomplishment ever that sets us apart. Cheesy The real deal is the combination of that with ring signatures.

what platforms do you use on your token?

What do you mean? Your question doesn't make much sense to me. Huh What kind of platforms?

Also this is not a token but a full-fledged crypto-currency.

Damn, xspec is being dumped all the fcking time probably by the same people over and over again not giving it a break. Are still the ICO ivestors bags that full? I mean this project would be great if only certain counterproductive "investors" werent here to damage the shit out of its value because they cannot wait until it reaches a solid value and wanna finance their expensive holidays. Sorry for toxic words, but to me toxic words suit just well when used to describe toxic people/actions.

Economy is competely damaged by the low number of ICO participants. Such a pitty.
