Are there significant updates since the announcement started? The main thread of the announcement is so limited, which contains very little information.
I think there has been lots of valuable posts and progress about PURA in the thread and the best way to stay in touch is to follow PURA's Official Facebook page

I think below comment from PURAOfficial shows their sincere intentions clearly and I am so proud and thankful to be part of supporting the PURA Mission and Make-A-Difference in this world!

Last week Pura had a developer conference in Europe. The roadmap for the next 3-4 months is fixed and we are preparing all market informations including a marketing campaign on all Pura channels starting with beginning of November. The next announcements will cover the following areas:
- new whitepaper
- new brand guide
- new dev. team with linkedin accounts, advisory board
- merchants who will accept Pura as a payment
- online portals who will accept Pura as a payment
- binaries for MacOSx and mobile wallets
- Pura Debit Card
- ATMs around the world to buy/sell Pura
- exchanges which will list Pura
