Sometimes Poloniex approvals take months, so maybe an application should be filled on Bittrex at the same time... or even a PlanB (Cryptopia, Yobit,..)

Of course no one is saying they should be listed now, I'm just pointing out the major flaw in this approach. There is absolutely no benefit to applying to only 1 exchange. Polo barely lists any coins, might as well try with bittrex which lists a new coin almost every week (it seems like at least). At this rate VOT won't be listed on an exchange this year.

I'd love to hear what a dev has to say.

Bittrex have bigger volumes then Poloniex. I think good choice for devs to list coin on this two biggest excanges. Simultaneously.
Poloniex barely lists and do this for reasons of benefit i think.

Why devs cant write to all exchanges and choose the best who can list this coin? You can wait 999 years letter from poloniex. Poloniex lists only those coins from which it can have income.
