So interesting concept - I have been considering a form of vote coin for sometime. However, the big issue I see with this votecoin is the concept is whoever owns the coin gets more votes. In short, golden rule = the one with the gold makes the rules. This isn't a true democratic coin. In order to be democratic everyone needs to have an equal/fair voice. If not, some big fish can come in and buy the votes.

If you are a big fish, lets say you buy votes and influence voting. Well, then the votes you bought are TRANSFERRED by the action of voting to the organizer of the poll/election/crowdfund. Please describe what you consider wrong in this example. People with money will influence the results while PAYING their money for their opinion. They will end up losing money. This seems fair to me. Democracy does not mean "equal voice". Democracy means "rule of the people". People decide. But the concept of fair votes in recent democratic elections is rather new, unusual, and imho dangerous. Not long ago, half of the population couldn't vote at all (women). And not even longer ago, lots of other people couldn't vote as well (slaves) and nobody had any problem with Democracy at that time. I'm not saying that women shouldn't have voting right, I'm not even propagating slavery, I am just saying that the whole concept of democracy is different than you assume and it changes during time. -Tom

This is work in progress currently. -Tom

It depends on the organizer what to do with it. The organizer is the only one who will have access to the private keys for all addresses (each vote option has distinct address).

It is good to discuss and analyze the theoretical use of this system in country elections, as a concept, because it allows us to learn from past mistakes and improve existing situations, but please keep in mind that this is designed for practical use, such as community (of all kinds) elections, polls and crowdfunding. The new wallet release will contain features discussed here and we are genuinely considering all your opinions and concerns about VoteCoin functionality. Also please remember this is an ongoing project, with many features that are not yet announced because we find better ways to do them as the project evolves, and we do not want to "promise" features that won't become true. Expect significant updates in a couple of days

on the one hand, in my opinion, this is not really an ideal situation it's exactly what happens in the US elections with big donations, those rich people with the moneys don't mind paying a lot to get their ways because it's worth it to them, I forgot to add, that with VoteCoin, we're also considering ways how to enable "equal voice" votes, which would include a possibility for government to distribute only certain VOT coins to the citizens of given country, and let the citizens vote in some political elections using those "special" VOT coins only, so the elections couldn't be influenced by "big fishes" or even by people from different states. on the other hand, this "equal voice" concept sounds like a good solution to this kind of situations. Maybe different procedures of voting can be used for different purposes, and developing this platform to offer these solutions and solve current problems it a noble idea and we need to develop it to be versatile and general to be able to cover different scenarios and offer real and practical solutions to be used in many different kinds of situations. I'm liking this more and more

This issue was addressed. Once the new release will be out i'll be able to discuss more about the implemented solution.
In my opinion (and please correct me if i am wrong), the only way one could control the fairness of votes inside a community (company, country, game, etc), is through ways specific to that community only. For example if the organizer of the election can limit the votes to 1 per participant, but make that vot value arbitrary, yet limited(!), that means that they can avoid this situation. An other example would be to limit voters to a set everyone agrees they should vote, so they avoid participants that could sabotage the vote.
These concepts have been extensively discussed and a technical solution has been found. It will be presented in a raw, more technical way in the next release, but it will be improved in the future.
This problem where a voter could sabotage a vote just because he can afford it, was one of my main concerns when joining this team. My concept solution to this is to "tranfer" this problem to the organizer of the poll/ellection/fund and offer him technical ways to do it from within the interface. I thought this so because each individual community knows best how to prevent such things in their own ways already, and VoteCoin should also be usable for crowdfunding where "paying more" is a benefit not an issue (unlike voting).
Presenting all these quite distinct functionalities in a coherent and well integrated way will be our next challenge.

maybe it takes a bit longer to confirm the deposit, check again in a few hours after the deposit and it should be there (if nothing went wrong).

Just the owner of the Tradesatoshi Exchange likes to trade with his own coins and your deposits interfere with his plans. You will easily notice this if you carefully check the status of the coins on this exchange.

Accusing other people of fraudulent activity is very easy, but without a reasonable proof it's just bogus claim...

Accusing other people of fraudulent activity is very easy, but without a reasonable proof it's just bogus claim... I will show a simple example. Look at the status and cost of the Verge (XVG) coin on this exchange. Compare with other exchanges. In addition, I tried to buy a certain amount of VoteCoin on the Tradesatoshi. It is very difficult. When the price of a coin decreases, errors occur or "Order Failed", "An unknown error occured. " It happened many times. Is this a coincidence? It's unlikely. It's quite enough to read Chat on this exchange.

i opened a support ticket and then half an hour later the coins were deposited .... now i sent some more coins and again they dont show on the deposit list (they used to show up right away and one can see their 25 confirmations progressing) but now not anymore ... or at least today!! when i was checking the deposit address, at the bottom of the window where it shows the address it shows also which block they are at ... when i tried earlier today it showed (0) .... now after i got those coins, and before transferring the second batch it showed 103780 ... which was at least 100 blocks behind at that time ... now i opened another support ticket for the new batch and waiting for it!! they seem to have a problem with their node or something!!!
