Yeah, that person will lose his Bitcoin if he doesn't get out of that coin before the long time holders do. There's plenty of other coins that is worth the investment like Waves.

It can be beneficial not to stand on own blockchain. If something comes out, like EOS or NEO that is better than Ethereum (maybe?), the companies can port to new blockchain. Kind of like AdEx did porting to NEO blockchain recently

ETC - Speculative nice movements in price.

WAVES - Decentralized platform with problems, but it will be better.

LTC - Speculative Chinese asset.

If you ask me the potential coins, because if i say you eth, btc, ltc, xmr then it won't be much profitable to you as you have already missed their train to moon.
the coins which are still to board and has daamn potential are:

1. Target Coin ( TGT ) : Lead by the traders who had really fussed their mind in trading since 12 years, they are sure to succeed. I will not be surprised if they are at 0.4 $ per TGT, by Christmas which is 10X .
2. MNX: Cool project, more delay means people will sell their coin so better chance to bag profit.
