I'm planning to do an initial investment of $500 in crypto currencies. $100 for 5 separate crypto currencies. I'm thinking of XRP, Adcoin, maybe Ethereum and 2 more. Any advice related to the choice of coin?

Bitcoins and waves for me are the best. I hope they will increase on days/ months/ years lots bigger, just give them time and invest some in them.

In my opinion, I would recommend that  you consider investing in a few altcoins which have huge potential and might end up being big in the near future.

Its good to see that you have already added Monero to your list, that is actually a solid project that might end up being big in the near future. You made a great choice by actually considering it, I believe in Monero than any other altcoin and I see it worth more than its current value in the next few years. May be if you spare $100 to invest in bitcoin. Further consider investing in Litecoin, Dash, Neo and Komodo.

If you invest and hold this coins for period of 5-10 years, you might end up making profit from your initial investment.

Most of these coins will do very well because they let anyone make more of them while holding, and earning a passive income.  No mining gear, no expensive energy bills.

Thats right I think 2018 is still a few months to come and that includes a long time for altcoin trading. as you know that in just a few days a coin may have a bad price and even die. so do not think too far to predict altcoin because it will be difficult to do. unless you predict ICO..

my top five right now for the next year is ark , comodo, nexus , litecoin (the price is down ver much so, inorder to take benefit from it) , bitcoin cash. i think some of the coin are under 2$ right now and all of those are really high potential coin and you can trust on them. bitcoin cash and litecoin has dump their price to almost half and they will recover soon so, it is very good time right now to invest in them.
