- Isn't it already adopted by number of big names ?
- Banks will never use bitcoins,they would have their own crypto coming up.Wish them luck with that.Failure in advance.
- Only if they adopt to bitcoin.Don't think it's likely to happen.Sorry I disagree with you,I have exactly opposite thoughts on the subject.The booming prices,commercialisation isn't good for bitcoin.

Well the blockchain technology was first invented in 2008 and it was so special considering the fact that if a data is being transferred from one peer to another external modification of this is not at all possible !

And you could easily imagine if the external modification of data is not possible what benefits it could give it to society as a whole.
There are certain things that are supposed to be kept secured and not only bitcoins but many other things are now employing blockchain technology ...for example:- to keep medical records, to make transactions end to end, to keep list of PAN cards and other identity related matter...the list is endless... Obviously everything needs to be secured in a computerized world ... And block chain is doing just that..
In my view blockchain will expand its field..of application and be used in our daily life... And offcourse then there is bitcoins...its an indispensable part of bitcoins afterall.

we are in very early phase of blockchain technology, it has to cover  a long distance, i think currently a very limited number of people know about blockchain technology, otherwise most of the people do not have any idea about it. i think it will take a long time to be introduce in people and therefore we can expect that blockchain as a very bright future, because it is modern technology and the new generation are taking more interest in blockchain technology.

The blockchain technology will be bigger than the Bitcoin itself. As there are a lot of industries where the blockchain could be implemented Millions of people will use the blockchain without knowing it. From Health care, insurance to real estate, we are still at the very beginning. Even if you can mix with IOT and AI it could be an economic bomb.

I think the blockchain technology will be behind a lot of things in the future, but there probably needs to be some work on solving scaling issues as a blockchain gets larger. I assume all blockchains will have the same issues that Bitcoin is facing with slower transactions etc. as it gets bigger. If so, these issues need to be fixed.

The new technology behind Iota called the tangle seems to solve this issue but it remains to be seen if it will gain adoption. Or it's possible that some newer technology will take the place of the blockchain and tangle in the future.

I cannot but agree with several conclusions of others concerning how bright the future of blockchain is going to be beyond imagination and even using the forum here is a case study in the sense that the moment a username is attached to an address, then one can see the total amount that person has earned or in his wallet although we might not be able to access it but that high level of transparency.

Imagine that everybody have that and names is involved which means the moment we your wallet address, we know how much you have, as a president, senator, policeman, soldier, teacher, among other professions that would not only bring transparency but curb corruption to a large extent. That is the dream of any sane country.

For me the blockchain technology is the best invention of this century. Especially in a society where corruption and fraud is increasing, this could be the solution. Because blockchain can be used to validate things without being controlled by one company. There are more uses to it but this being the most important in my perspective.

We can't predict the future but seems like blockchain has a good future for example, on banking we all know that there are so many banks or financial corporation in this world are interested in this technology even some of them have been studying and implementing it into their system, blockchain can cut the costs of middleman, improved the security and other benefits.
