Hey. So basically, this is a cloned coin for Monero.

Masari's foundation is in Monero, and it uses the same cryptonote + ringCT combination, but there are three major differences:

*Static mixin and ring size from genesis
*Uses LWMA - the best known DAA
*CN-Fast

A clone would imply being exactly the same.

It's good to see realistic time frames. Lots of projects will promise moon and stars by next quarter, so this does indicate to me that you guys are serious about what you are doing.

When will the research for the new things promised in the roadmap start (blocktree and uncle mining)?

The conceptual design of uncle mining is already in place.  Now that the fork to CN-Fast is complete, development efforts are going to be channeled towards rolling out uncle mining (slated for Q3 2018).

Blocktree is the most intricate part of the road map and it will be the lion's share of development focus after uncle mining.  It has a tentative tag for Q1 but I am fairly confident the paper will be in place sometime in January.  It could come sooner also, but I would stick to early Q1 for the whitepaper.

There has been a lot of malicious activity in the CN space the past couple months, with a variety of attacks hitting small net hash coins.  Now that CN-Fast is live it removes many of the attack vectors that previously existed on CNv7.  This frees up development time, and we're all very excited to get started on the innovative goals of Masari.

I can hardly wait to implement uncle mining, that will make a huge difference between Masari and other similar coins.

I see. Well, thanks for the answer. Anything the core team needs, just ask, and we, the community supporters, will help as we can.

how to mine masari (msr) on ubuntu 14.0 any guide ?

You'll need a mining software. Particularly, I recommend xmr-stak from fireice-uk: https://github.com/fireice-uk/xmr-stak

For Linux, you'll have to compile it. There's the guide: https://github.com/fireice-uk/xmr-stak/blob/master/doc/compile_Linux.md

After compiling it, enter the /bin generated directory, and make sure you have permission to execute the binary:

cd bin
chmod +x xmr-stak

And then, run it:

./xmr-stak

And then, you'll have to select the coin (or algorith), insert the pool you want to use, the wallet, and whatever it asks to.

There's also a forked version: https://github.com/masari-project/masari-xmr-stak

I started buying and mining because of the active communication from the devs. I would expect as more people find out about this hidden gem, it will be more popular

I see that listing on crex24 is imminent, I have found a vote for an exchange that masari has entered,

https://request.coinpulse.io/suggestions/6196/masari-msr

Is this the only vote we can participate in, or are there others?

I really like to see Masari on Kucoin.
The listing fee is a bit expensive, isn't? Maybe too early to aim it.

Yes, they wanted a large amount of BTC that we don't have (yet).

First time I hear about this, but it sounds like an interesting thing to try. It's nice to see a project where devs really work on new stuff Smiley

Do you know about the web wallet that is fully clientside? There are also plans to try a new scaling approach.

Super cool that Masari is still less than a year old and already recognized by the Monero community and added to their subreddit list. We still have 6 months left this year so I’m not throwing in the towel yet on this year being The Year of Privacy coins with Monero leading the charge and Masari following right behind.
