Guys and Girls, Thanks for the support and tips recently, I was able to get my "EarthBank" running again !!! But special, and super thanks to Sandokaaan! he or she made this all happen!!! (if i understood correctly) I even found 200K back on an exchange !!

Yes you understood correctly, Sandokaaan libarated Earthcoin by building a new earthcoin wallet wich forked a new chain leaving the hackers helpless
The hackers tried to hold their goldmine by trowing lots of hashing power to keep control but with lots of nodes already on 1.5.2 they gave up eventualy.
Indeed a masterpiece of work which shows his skills in blockchain technology, we are very lucky to have him onboard.

Also great to see you back Biomech, I remember you as one of the most active EAC community members back in 2014. I agree on your point of EAC being a bit too inflationary. What's your opinion about that Sandokaaan?

Yeah, I was crazy into it back then. So much that for a while I was the main media contact for the EAC dev team. Life got in the way, and I had to resign in early '15, and got out of Crypto altogether for over a year... Things have changed, a lot of coins I was involved in have died. Nice to see that this one still goes on

At any rate, I have some thoughts on the inflation, since Sandokaan seems to be actively developing right now: Perhaps a change in the reward structure? Keep the total number to be issued the same, but accelerate the block halving. I don't have a schedule in mind, it's just a thought at this point. Or possibly refactor it so that 1000 old EAC = 1 new EAC(reloaded), and reduce the cap accordingly. Again, these are arbitrary numbers, more fuel for discussion than actual proposals at this point.

Another possibility is changing the algorithm from scrypt to something CPU friendly, or at least GPU friendly, then ASIC devices won't dominate the coin. Don't have any idea what the current community might think of that.

But I think you guys have to do the innovation and additional promotion so it's easier to follow and the added information is also needed. I dont think you realise the magnitude of users that are developing the network for this coin. The shear number of volunteers behind this smashes any other coin out there. Bitcoin was orphaned in the same way earthcoin was...the creators have long gone...but now the community has taken over...no "team" of any coin will be able to match what a community can do. And the chinese are helping us also, www.earthcoin.top I suggest you sit down before you click that link because you will be amazed at whats going on in Asia. - Master nodes are coming...

Thanks for the input, only i'm not familiar with "wallet repair",.... I still have the old wallet.dat file, so maybe it is safer to wait for the next update, before i mess something up

Hi. Please, back-up your wallet.dat file in a safe place. Then you can try export private keys from you old wallet and import them into new one. If you need my assistance, please contact me by PM.

I second this. Burn the wallet.dat file to a CD, so it NEVER goes away, then you can try all sorts of forensics. Honestly, it's usually not that difficult to recover.
