Anyone experience with R9 380 ? I have 6 cards ( Sapphire Nitro and MSI ) and I dont know what`s wrong with bioses. I see on forum, people who get 25 mh/s on ETH with this cards. I use hex editor and I copy string from 1500 MHz and put on 1625 MHz and 1750 MHz ... no success ! After that, I found some strings on "google" and I test few ... I found only one who works fine with Elpida and Hynix memory ( about +2 mh/s ) Stock 1500 Mhz string : 77 71 33 20 00 00 00 00 CE 51 6A 3D 90 55 11 12 30 96 49 09 00 4A E6 00 22 33 9D 08 74 01 14 20 6A 89 00 A0 02 00 31 20 15 0F 29 2F 94 27 31 16New string : 77 71 33 20 00 00 00 00 CE CD 59 39 80 55 11 11 2E 15 89 08 00 48 C6 00 22 33 9D 08 6C 00 14 20 6A 89 00 A0 02 00 31 20 14 0F 26 2B 88 25 2F 15OS : ethOS Miner : sgminer Stock bios : 18 mh/s ( ETH only )Moded bios : 21-22 mh/s ( ETH only )OC Settings : Sapphire card ( core 1140 and mem 1715 ) - 22.37 mh/s ; and MSI card ( core 1120 and mem 1630 ) - 21.27 mh/s ; and other more OC settings

^^^ The Ethereum DAG is too big with those old cards. They have enough RAM but it's another issue that causes the hashing speed to slow almost in half. ETC has the same issue.
Mine a newer coin with a smaller DAG like MUSIC, UBQ, EXP, PIRL, ELLA, etc. and you'll get 25 MH/s. 30 MH/s with those mining straps.

Notbatman, here is the bios for the MSI RX570 8GB ARMOR with Hynix memory. I can only get 26mh/s per card. I have 6 cards and all have the same bios. Running Blockchain driver for Aug 23. Please see if you can mod this to get up to 29-30 mh/s. Thank you for your help. http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=21265115056363326005

Thanks for your reply. U think I`ll get good hashrate, like 28-29 mh/s with same settings, on PIRL,MUSIC,etc ?

Thank you. I was able to flash the gpus and now getting 27.5 mh/s which is better. But now the miner shutdown and reboot the whole computer after 10-15 min runtime. So I flashed it back to the original bios which gives 24.5 mh/s.

So I flashed it back to the original bios which gives 24.5 mh/s. Probably memory errors... Check HWinfo and lower memory clocks. I haven't look at the bios, but it's probably 24AJ type using the NerdRalph timing, it won't achieve much higher hashrate.

Do you mod the bios or use trixx, msi afterburner, wattman, overdriven? What about adjusting the core voltage?

i could email it to you if you want it, i dont know how i can upload it to here,i will look into it and will post the bios here today maybe, need to know how
You can use http://www.zippyshare.com/ Just upload it there and post the link. Thanks Hi, sorry it took a while, but here it is, Sapphire rx550 4GB Micron with 10 CU's; stock bios: http://www79.zippyshare.com/v/lGcaFMLG/file.htmlstock bios it does 280 hash, i put 1250 strap at 1750 strap and put memory at 1850 mhz, and got arround 380 hash. You can probally do better then this, i tried one strap lower and the card would lockup, but ya, i only tried copy paste lower straps into higher ones. This "RX 550" is a rebranded RX460 with 6 disabled CU´s and slow RAM,unfortunatily not a Polaris 12 chip . But I try to unlock the CU´s: http://www99.zippyshare.com/v/mz7hrmO5/file.htmlIf you try it, please report. Good luck

Acutally RX550 should be more power efficient it should use better 14nm FinFet fabrication. RX 550 are pretty good for XMR 400-500H/s if you have good memory.

Why don't they make a 16gb card with 4x of these gfx894 chips, it could crush the vega and 1080ti?

Here I modded the stock bios, test it out. -- Sapphire.RX550.4GB.198111_TEST_BIOS_1875.romFANS @ 100% I think with the unlocked cores it's an RX555.
