if devs deliver the things promised.... it would be a super hit project.... but mining on mobile is such a unique technology which would be the first of this kind in the crypto.... lets hope this become the reality and all earn from the tokens you guys invest and dont even read what you are investing in... well played... crash incoming once people reallize that the coins (the word isn't mine as mining envolves complex mathematical operations and problem solving) they are receiving in their wallet for nothing in return is diluting the market value of it... ECONOMICS 101 The "mining experience" offered on mobile is just the means to encourage mass adoption (which is a good thing). Actual mining will take place on WIN, MAC, and Linux machines to back that up. I'm sure the payout for the "mining experience" will be miniscule in comparison, but even that can be advantageous in third world countries (a completely untapped market) and for kids who probably don't know the difference anyway. If it can become the currency used for in-game purchases, that alone can drive its value through the roof. I'm not saying it's a sure thing. Nothing is, but the hate you, in particular, have for this project is unwarranted in my opinion. This project is solid. They have a good plan, and many people believe in it (obviously). Either invest or don't. It's up to you whether you invest and it's up to me whether I invest. That's the bottom line. but thats the thing mate.... you cannot create wealth out of nothing... and no... it isnt going to be miniscule in comparison. if they give what they promise more $ created by having the game open will be much bigger than the $ produced by mining. thats mathematical. and wealth cannot be created out of thin air. so value of electroneum will keep ajusting. and for high inflation ill keep my euros. that is Economics 101 the bottomline is that we are supposedly having a debate. but no actual facts comming from your side. not a single look on the implications of such value dilution. but your defense is "I do what i want with my money and you the same" - really mature... you say hate again.... that means my opinion is invalid because it comes from a psychological point of view.... but that is you guys that think value appears out of thin air... stop accusing pleople that are sharing their take, and speacially FACTS, HARD FUKING FACTS! you guys live in lala land im sorry. how can it be advantageous in africa? i mean for them, temporarily it will be.... but when 300M(Africa only) phones are getting 20-30$ free dollars worth of electroneum you really think the market cap will rise 6.000 million dollars a month? no... it will be worth the same but the tokens less Manu people believe in it (obviously) I've seen many grown man who believe in yeti and big foot The bottomline is that we are trying to debate electroneum and all you "electroneum lovers" do is regurgitate what I already read on their page. nothing new to add except accusations and insults You write "You cannot create wealth out of nothing". Wasn't bitcoin created out of nothing?

I thought the ico was kinda of expensive, 20 billion coins. A price of 0.001 would have been a little more suitable.

I almost pull the trigger, but two things holding me back, one is the sheer volume of coin issued and the other is how this mining from phone harms no hardware, I fear these coins are pre-mined and just re-distributed to users as if they are actually mining.
There is no real mining going on. I support the project because I support MOST deals which focus on that all elusive cryptocurrency MASS ADOPTION. Bitcoin isn't going to do it. NEO isn't going to do it. QTUM and the other high tech coins ain't gonna do it. If we can get cryptocurrency in the hands of the masses while minimizing the need to throw them to the techie nerdy geeky world of cryptocurrency, then it is a great start. If anyone think it is a scam, I respect your opinion. For those who believe it isn't a scam, I respect your opinions as well. Why do we always fight over such silliness? Why do we always fight about someone else's choices? You make your choice and leave people be about their choices. That scam word is thrown around nilly willy simply too much. Try another word/term. It just may require a little more thinking. This is not addressed to you Yawn85. This is a general comment to everyone in the cryptocurrency industry. We eat our young... We kill our own. And it ain't even that serious. I believe casinos and playing lotto are senseless. But if you want to play in that house, more power to you. I won't even dare suggest you not do so. I also like warm dark beer, nigiri sushi and plum wine with hot sake. Some of my associates abhor warm beer and they claim that hot sake is the bottom of the barrel and I should chose cold sake. I laugh and take a sip. Enjoy life!

If Jeremy Rush from ZukulAdNetwork is sending me emails to buy Electroneum .... ... then red lamp is flashing in my head. ... it means for me to stay away from this project. Good luck to investors!
Because ONE individual on the planet that you do not like is promoting a deal, you find that a valuable parameter in determining whether you will pursue the deal or not? Really? You probably want to get red lamps and flashes out of the cerebral plane.

Why so much hate against a very promissing project? Maibe people are upset because they didn`t get the chance to buy at a bigger bonus . Anyway i believe that it`s not a scam because they postet all the info of theyre project and its check out. your right electroneum are great project now go uprising please check at the announcement how to join in the electroneum presale ICO and get the huge bonus, people electroneum called scam but not a scam people want to go down the promising project so never mind on that accusation the important this project are truly legit. Some people are trying to pull down the electroneum, since this project are earn a lot of success. However they can't notice that when they tying topull down this project more users will become curious and they were study if it is true. Then after that due to good condition of this project to the whole crypto currency, instead of disappointment they were attract to join in this project. That's what we called reverse psychology marketing strategy, they pulled down their project yet curiosity of people were encourage them to join in the project. Really? Have you ever tried electroneum too? Actually,I'm getting curious to it now because many people from here are talking how good electroneum is. Your loint of view is really an eye opener and obviously I am one of those curious people mentioned. Anyway,if electroneum is a good kind of campaign then let's just support it and we are not making any problem with that because it's just normal that they are destroying other names of coin. Perhaps, they are just envious and bored. I will check more of that and I guess it's not a scam.

Looks like a bunch of professional scammers to me to be honest. I wouldnt trust it even by touching it with a stick. But look at this money they are raising, its hard to tell how much of it is actually real. Electroneum doesnt make much sense to me, and past projects that use flashy words and catch phrases that didnt make sense didnt turn out so well.

The only people who call it scam are the ones who haven't studied the project properly. If you have read the whitepaper and concept behind it then you'll know yourself that this project is no way a scam
Of course there's no promise that the price will rise, but again, even the founder of Electroneum tells you to invest at your own risk and price rise is not guaranteed. Obviously a "scam" will do the opposite and promise mega returns to tempt investors.

Just a few observations here.
- Many of the posts on this thread are a little suspicious.
- Its interesting that none of the major exchanges, i.e the ones who scruitinise ICOs closely are not happy to list Electroneum.
- First British cryptocurrency? Its not even the fiftieth British cryptocurrency.
- Mobile mining? Done before, fell flat. Kills battery life or not technically viable due to centralisation issues.
- Games console mining? Done before, inefficient, hardware isn't suitable for crypto mining. Manufacturers previously would not approve mining software on their app stores.
- Dev team is almost 100% marketing focussed. Obviously this could be a good thing if backed up with plans for a great platform.
- Negative trust points for using a photo of somebody posing on a private jet to demonstrate his success. Cringeworthy.
- Supporting untraceable payments causes enormous legal problems given that Electroneum are UK based and keep mentioning their links to big names in the city. Our project wasn't even allowed through the door of a UK bank until we removed untraceable payments from our code.
- The whitepaper is 95% showing off about features that have been reused from other projects. Very little new stuff in there. All feels very 2015 to me.
I'm genuinely struggling to find what the USP of this platform is, apart from being heavily marketed.
I am watching with genuine interest with how this is going to go. Marketing will only carry it for so long. I wish them well, as it clearly isn't a scam. However, I get the feeling that this project will have to stop being all mouth and no trousers at some point if it is going to succeed long term. If it does fail, which I think is more likely than not (hardly an unfair comment seeing as 80% of ICOs fail) it will do more damage to crypto than good given the efforts they have made to attract adoption outside of the usual crypto investors.

The only people who call it scam are the ones who haven't studied the project properly.
Don't forget the Financial Times which is writing skeptical articles about Electroneum. https://ftalphaville.ft.com/2017/10/12/2194751/congratulations-on-your-sudden-interest-in-cryptocurrencies-harry-redknapp/https://ftalphaville.ft.com/2017/10/17/2194909/an-update-on-harry-redknapps-favourite-cryptocurrency/You might have your doubts about investing in cryptocurrencies, but if a man who has spent his entire life thinking about football can’t persuade you to speculate on a risky financial scheme then nothing will.
And what a scheme it is! Electroneum is a “mobile cryptocurrency” and the brainchild of Richard Ells, whose past experience includes SiteWizard, whose services include web design, and Retortal, which makes a social media management tool and is apparently valued at over $50m. (Who values it at over $50m is unclear. The company has no outside investors and made just £10,000 of profit in the year to May 2016, according to Companies House documents.) But his general message is clear. This is a wildly speculative venture led by a guy who has little experience with cryptocurrencies... The fundraising has been driven by an aggressive marketing program that makes little effort to remind people they might lose their shirt. The Electroneum Twitter account is happily pumping the sale without ever having once mentioned the word “risk”, as in “your capital is at risk”: Who knows, all of this might get so exciting that even the FCA starts to pay attention… Imagine the look on the faces of everyone who has spent years working on bitcoin when they discover they’ve been using the wrong number of decimal points. Imagine the look on their faces when they discover that Ells has finally managed to build a cryptocurrency wallet that is “literally impossible to hack”. Literally impossible!

Normally i would be really sure, that the price will go below ico price. But this time i cant say wether it goes down or up because i dont know the effect of the huge marketing campaign.
The Project itself is low-average.

Bloomberg has taken a stance too: https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-10-13/icos-marxism-and-credit-reportsIt is the pure Spinal Tap theory of money supply: Why not give everyone more coins, and make the coins worth less? Who's to say that they're wrong? My Bloomberg colleague Joe Weisenthal has his own mostly-joke cryptocurrency, Stalwartbucks, whose specification notes that "To make it easier for everyone to become a billionaire, each raw coin is designated as a Billion Stalwartbucks." It's as good an explanation as you'll get for many ICOs.

Electroneum is one of the few ICOs that ends before the actual date. To me, it's a really good sign, as the early adopter are really hyped by the project. Why would your create FUD around a genuine project like this ? There's no point in doing that, it does look like a really serious cryptocurrency to me. You know, Bitcoin can't be the only one... There's a real need of diversity in blockchain market, so that it can be a healthy market, without a risk of price manipulation by BTC whales... We already suffered from China's dick moves, we have seen how much damage a handful of people can ruin something.
I prefer Electroneum over any BTC hardfork, by far ^^

Electroneum is an amazing project so far and i'm hoping its going to hit the skies soon but don't compare it to BTC. BTC is a monster and the king of cryptos.

Well, I'm being very careful to post my opinions and I'm quoting media comments on the project. I'm hardly FUDing. I just find it hard to stomach people saying that the whitepaper is amazing when its mostly descriptions of features that other projects invented. I stand to be corrected. Electroneum might have a killer feature hidden away that they will reveal after launch. Time will tell.

I'm sorry you must be really slow.... the real whitepaper has 3 pages. and reading a manipulative text does not make you knowledgeable... I studied these project days on end and the only conclusion I can take is that they lied many many times.... and take no questions about technicals... you know why? because they themselves don't even know it. please try to actually study it before you come here accusing the ones that actually did their due dillegence
