Why are there only 10 shares of Apple outstanding when more than that is trading on the exchange?
The client can tokenize as many shares as he wants and owns and for the time he wants to create a non-deliverable forward on our platform. So far, our Founder tokenized his small hedged portfolio of shares to test and polish the process. 100 tokens in circulation means that we only made 100 shares of Apple tradable for tokens (not all shares of Apple that exist) and each token represents 1 share and it is all back to back. Meanwhile we are working on to add more clarity and transparency for our clients.

What happens to the shares at the expiration of the forward contract on 9/30?
Either at the day expiration or before that a client may choose to trade out of his position by simply selling it or by waiting till the end of the expiration day and receive respective amount of LAT in return for expired contract. The expiration price will be calculated as a close price of real world asset (Apple share on respective exchange for example) for that trading day divided by the average rate of LAT/EUR over 24 hours (if we will be able to list LAT on exchange before the end of September), or by an average rate of ETH/EUR over 24 hours times the fixed price of LAT/ETH depending on ICO round). The company runs market making operations currently, thus the bids are available 24/7. A client is free to choose either to hold his tokenized shares till last day of trading or trade off his position before that.

Is the trading activity between LAT customers now, or is it just the company doing the trading?
Currently a small number of early adopters test the waters and in parallel we build market-making facilities in house. But as the process and transparency develop we expect more people to express their opinions with regards to forwards on what stocks they want to trade on our platform and consequently tokenize those real world assets for trading.

@Greenlee could you please show volume statistics for the exchange? This is very important, as the value of LAT is proportional to the activity on the exchanges!

We are working to build a comprehensive system to track and gather trades statistics. Right now, the volume is measured in tens of ETH per day. We will increase the number of forwards for each share offered once there is a demand, meaning if all 100 forwards of Apple are bought and there is more demand we will buy more Apple shares on real world exchange and tokenize them to provide liquidity on a platform. Later, if big holders of shares agree to tokenize even a small fraction of those shares the supply may rise drastically.

Crypto Falling? Diversify with tokens, backed by real assets - from Apple shares to gold and real estate - at LAT Platform. Cryptocurrencies remain one the most volatile, yet attractive investments. Asset-backed tokens give you the benefits of crypto, such as low transaction costs and transparency, as well as the security of having a physical asset https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUImbAG8bxw

There is a good part in the WP. About how they tokenize art-works. Check it out - Artwork tokenization and trade Step 1. Application for sale The owner of the artwork fills in the form on the LAT platform for artwork-backed token issue, providing basic asset information, results of previous appraisals (if available), share of asset to be tokenized, and ownership rights. Step 2. Asset appraisal Prior to artwork tokenization, it is subject to tests for authenticity, appraisal, and insurance by LAT-certified vendors. Step 3. Custodial agreement The LAT-certified custodian and the applicant sign a binding agreement for mandatory future open fiat auction by the settlement date. Step 4. Asset tokenization and sale When all legal issues are settled, LABT backed by the artwork are issued on the LAT exchange and become available for investors. All raised funds are transferred to the seller. Step 5. Asset buy back By the settlement date, the applicant must sell his artwork at a fiat auction and distribute the proceeds among the LABT holders. If he fails to do this, the asset will be sold at a fiat auction by the Trustee.

So it will be possible to buy shares of some small Kameroon corporation being a subject of Japan?

Quite an unbiased review. However I wouldn't be so impatient to measure the blockchain quality. After all, there is a lot of fuctions to be implemented only, now you can't even make a dump of your wallet - but it will be allowed in the future as far as I know.

Unfortunately no. It's worth investing anyway, I suppose. Though I hoped to make a video about it

It isn't too optimistic. Actually, it's realistic prediction given that all the operations are simple and fast, using blockchain and automatized operations. There are no middlemen, no special taxes and the procedure of registration will be decentralized.
How about custodian services costs? They will not be cheap.

This rounds approximately indicates the implementation of a new type of assets. It is quite a complicated process, that why it need some time. And money ofc.
