I got an email and tried to send the wire transfer but the SWIFT didn't match and I also couldn't fill in the wire form completely.  The bank form only takes so many letters and a few of the details didn't match up.  (A strange detail but it made me worry)

I wrote back an apology explaining that I wasn't sure my transaction wouldn't be complete and I'll wait for DASH or LTC transactions.

The response was pretty nice.

In general, I've had good communications with them.  They even fixed my cube for 80 bucks.

I just wish that they would have a smoother sales process.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Ugh, I read a bunch of reports by now about bank problems with baikal. Seems kinda strane, never had that with bitmain.

I would love to see a normal website storefront and more payment options. In this day and age it would be nice to see creditcards, paypal, and crypto payment options. I know wire transfers are a pain and scary for a lot of people.

credit card payment gateway, and paypal are very very experience for the merchants / sellers, and they usually need to pay 2 to 3 % of the transaction value, and paypal will add another 1 to 2 %... who wants that additional cost for small quantity high value transactions...
and maybe more importantly, to enable credit card payment or paypal, the merchant acquirers - usually banks will require very strict KYC (know your customer) process, which i don;t think most digital currency players are willing to go through  Tongue Grin Cheesy

Welkome to Baikal my friend!
Just for fun you should read the thread in my signature.

Yup, sounds familiar to me. Ive once sent alot more than that for a bulk order. But at that time they were on top of the world dominating the x11 market.
They recieved my payment late, a few days late to be exact, issue was on their side. They told me they can not honor the quantity i paid for. But they will try their best and hope i get lucky if they have enough stock.
I told them to go fuk off and just send my funds back. Done. Never will support this company again. Even if they were selling real live unicorns.

Thanks @Tai_Pan, good read.

@Chan8, did they refund you?

As a merchant, paypal can quickly put you out of business. Paypal always sides on the side of scammers....but that a whole other story..

Yeah because buying from bitmain is way less stressful. Oh wait 100s if not 1000s of people have tried and failed and wasted hours of their life trying to get their website to work during their announced releases. This product is 2-3 weeks late but I havent spent hours refreshing pages to no avail. The only part for me that was stressful was waiting for confirmation of wire transfer. I would have had this same stress with bitmain. In this current market trying to buy any new asic at a reasonable price and without stress is impossible. It really does suck for the average joe like me who is trying to progress their home mining setup and everything is set up to favor the big boys. In 2 weeks these units will be on the streets and people will be over paying for them like everything else. No reason to bash Baikal or Bitmain this is just the world we are living in. We are all free to leave if we want but yet here we are.

I guarantee they spend more money in wasted man hours with their goofy process than any 3% fee.  Why not just pass the fee on to the consumer if they want to use a credit card?  Or a ACH transfer.  You can buy a $3000 television online with a credit card without issues.  I don't see why a $1500 miner should be different.  Considering these things are always pre-order it would be nice to be able to put it on a credit card which effectively gives you a free 30-50 days to pay.

That was my thought as well. 1188 vs 1200 or 1215 with credit card. It can't be easy tracking all these wire transfers and making sure all orders match requested amounts and such.

cannot agree more...
especially on the wire transfer part, which is not really baikal or bitmain's issue, but the damn banks... all the banks, US banks, chinese banks, singapore banks...none of them could provide fast, transparent process of wire transfer...or  even secure...
just google "international wire transfer issue"... all the major us big banks provide really really POOR services...if you wait for 2 weeks and your fund is still not there, try to call the banks and wait 3 hours on the line, and finally someone answers, and will ask you for additional money to trace the transaction... seriously, i need to pay to ask where the hell my money is?

Amazing.
If you google "IZHEVSKY MEKHANICHESKY ZAVOD JSC", you will find that "Baikal" is a Russian enterprise and sells weapons.
I hope they are two different "baikal".   Grin
