My guess is bitcoin would never be destroyed, it would simply be regulated so much, it would be just like buying/selling another fiat currency. You know, when btc eventually hits 1 million, the governments require taxation and declaration of your btc, etc...

I think bitcoin can’t be destroy right now. Because bitcoin are now getting very popular to many people, users and company. Now many people are willing to try and to learn how to earn bitcoin. Many users are now become wealthy, because of the bitcoin increasing price. There are some company accepting bitcoin, and now many companies are willing to accept bitcoin as a payment. But I think in the future bitcoin will be destroy by itself, if bitcoin reach the limit of 21 million.

Government cannot destroy bitcoin because it is decentralized and that is one of the major foundation of bitcoin why it is not easy for bitcoin to get destroyed. If there's a reason why bitcoin will destroyed it is us. We just leave bitcoin alone so the miners will not have a work because they will not earn money if there is no transaction and also demand in the market.

The short answer is nobody. The long answer is someone with loads of money. This might also be the biggest risk in bitcoin. If the US government finds out it wants to destroy bitcoin, it can do it. It might cost them xxxx trillion dollars, but it's possible. The problem is that the population would perhaps rather have wellfare for those trillions instead of a destroyed bitcoin. So in reality nobodyu will destroy it

Realistically I don't know if it will go away. Cryptocurrency will always be around in my opinion. The only thing is if a new coin comes into the picture and drives Bitcoin out. Currently, though I do not think such coin exists.

You can't "destroy" bitcoin.
It's close to impossible.

For bitcoin to continue to survive it only needs one miner with a full node (copy of the blockchain).
It would be the same thing as the government being able to delete all porn from all the computers, in every country at the same time.
Chances for that to happen are close to 0.

As for the second threat...dogecoin?

Hackers have prayed on bitcoin users with phishing scams, malware, fake wallets and many others for years.

Someone are 10000% percent sure that China can destroy Bitcoin. Well, that is not true at all. Even China is famous for its work with it, it doesn't mean that they decide the future of Bitcoin.

However, there is one big factor that can be fatal for Bitcoin.  THE GOVERNMENT!!!  Since Bitcoin is an online currency, if the governments decide the stop the internet, they can easily wipe off Bitcoin. In fact, they can wipe off most of the other banking as well because most of it is online these days.

 They can make minning illegal. If these miners could be shut down, no more Bitcoins will be generated, which could bring down the system.
