I believe it is not appropriate to call bitcoin as TOKEN because token pertains to smart contract cryptocurrency. There will be a confusion if you call bitcoin as token even other coin. For example you cant call Ethereum as a token because there are lots of ethereum smart contract or ethereum token under ethereum. Same with NXT, and WAVES. |

Doesn't really matter what it is called but tokens run on the ethereum platform so it would be wrong to call it a token. I don't agree with the idea. Where did you get this from anyway ? I am not okay with Bitcoin being called a token because it's not that. A token is something that's redeemable later for something of real value. I would call altcoins tokens of Bitcoin actually haha.

It doesn't matter to me whatever they call bitcoin. They can call it anything they want to call it. That's their opinion and we have nothing to do about that. As long as it wont affect it's price. But i think it's wrong to bitcoin a token because it's a digital currency which you can also buy something using it. But as long we benefits from bitcoin. It doesn't matter how they see it or what they call it. A token, a coin or currency. As long as they buying and using bitcoin, o don't mind that. But still they have to be educated about this.

I think only more circulating words. because many ico always mention tokens. yes this is just a word that we often say. does not mean very deep meaning. I myself have no problem with token words on bitcoin.

Most times it's better to just call Bitcoin "Bitcoin". It has many properties which can described by words like asset, money, currency, coin, cash, settlement layer, token, and so on; they can be used to emphasize some aspect of Bitcoins nature, but they can't once and for all describe Bitcoin because it can be used in so many different ways that it makes it truly unique - there's simply nothing that comes close to Bitcoin in traditional financial system.

I don't care what it is called really. Bitcoin is not a coin either.
As long as it appears in the media, they can give it whatever name they like. More exposure is better.

I don't mind really, it's just a name. If it doesn't fit the definition of a currency, the regulators can use other names. They are in a way bound by law not to call it a currency if it hasn't been approved as one in their country (at least in official docs). I prefer when people say it's been trading at $XXX a coin, not a token, but I guess it's whatever suits you.

It does not matter to me what you want to call on Bitcoin like Token, Metal, Digital Money as long that the good reputation and benefits from Bitcoin will not change. Name is just a name it does not change how good Bitcoin is. Even if you will change Bitcoins name it will still useful and in demand to consumers. So dont let if bother you what they want to call to Bitcoin. Lets just wish that Bitcoin will become more and more famous and continue its reputation. |

It doesn't matter to me. It does have certain negative connotations, but look at it this way: People who don't know about cryptocurrencies won't be aware of these negative connotations, and those who do know about cryptocurrencies won't care. For as long as we're clear it's not an altcoin fork, there shouldn't be any problems.

Shouldn't anyone call anything whatever they want?
Especially if that thing wasnt baptized? I have no problem people calling it a fraud, a ponzi scheme, name it. As long as it maintains its upward potential. I dont care about the name you call it.

Any names will do as long as we know how to use it and make ir grew, orthers might calls it that way for they much familiar in that term uses in some apps or as an entry in some transactions. Coins and token may not be one in terms but both use in cryptocurrencies. |

There was a discussion here on bitcointalk about the difference between what a Token is and what a Currency is. In that discussion people were saying that a Currency has is acccepted by everyone to make payments, while the Tokens are beiung accepted by a small group of people. The tokens are given by a website or a company. Bitcoin has already proved that is a Currency and not a Token, it is accepted worldwide.

I think bitcoin also includes a token, but the most famous token and the most expensive token, I agree if that is the case right now. so it does not matter if bitcoins are called tokens.

It doesn't matter to me, those people that don't really know what bitcoin is will it as sort of token. No heart feelings bitcoin will be as is. Do you need to be sent to crypto re-education camp?  If that is for free then I would be willing to be in there.  i like bitcoin the way it is right now but as long that the name only would change i really wouldnt mind and if someone offers me a crypto educated camp if i can afford i would be more wiiling to go |
