You might be talking about wrong ebtc because as far as I remember they have airdropped around 2.4K EBTC tokens

I remember those times as well, they airdropped around 2457 at every address, then i think around 1000 tokens on the second round.. i had tons of free eBTC at that time and i sold all around $1.. i had a really nice gift from an airdrop, considering that this token is just a normal erc20.
But they have the merit to have a really nice marketing and a really big community, they deserve some glory!

But for what they need marketing ? Its just ERC-20 Token and you cant change Contract code . They need to make some platform with use case and use eBTC as fuel in platform . If they think people will use eBTC as payment method istead of any other coin , then its unlikely to happen. But thats just my opinion and i can be wrong , thats how i see it

Be patient, its still super early in crypto.  Less than 1 percent of people even own cryptocurrency. It's going to take longer for mainstream adoption.

It's called the 'network effect', and anyway it happens is fine with me. Bitcoin started with beanie babies and drugs, and good ole fashioned speculation, who cares how it starts, or if some of the early adopters are here to make some money (aren't we all), the point is once the network of eBTC holders is large enough the history of how we got there is open to opinion, but the reality would be a fact- eBTC would be a legit crypto, just like Doge.
