Working abroad is a lot sacrifice specially if you already have a family, you will have a hard time communicating with them because of different time zones, you'll miss out on special events on your children, you'll feel really home sick, you will not see your child grow or your child will grow up without a father or mother by his or her side. But in exchange to that, you will have a bigger income
I idolized those person who goes abroad and leave their family for a better life. Yes, working abroad will make them have a good life but in exchange of that is loneliness. Loneliness because you are not with your family, they're not here when there's a occasions.

I have so much respect for the Overseas workers all over the world because of the sacrifices they've done to give their families at home a better future in life and to sustain their needs for their every day lives. My father was an Overseas Worker in Dubai and I owe my father almost everything i have.
I tried working abroad too knowing that i can find my luck ther but i ended up going back home.Working abroad is not easy and has lot of sacrifices..You have to take all the risk just to give my family a better future but unfortunately i found abusive employer. That time i felt that all my dreams are gone and start worrying about our future but luckily i have a friend who help me start a new business and its working up to now...

working abroad really need lot of sacrifice, you need to give lots of your time, and energy working abroad just to earn money and send it back home. sometimes you need to double or triple your work for you to earn more. But for your family, no hardship can stop you.

Working abroad is really a lot of sacrifice. Some of our country men go abroad for the sake of their family to give better future...If only our government provide more jobs in our country then we can't go to some other countries to work.the problem in our country is lack of job oppurtunities thats why we go abroad..

Anyway, when someone is away from his family and alone, what he is going to do other than working non-stop? I have seen immigrants in my place working for up to 12-14 hours a day. I feel sorry for them, but there is hardly anything that I can do about it.

Precisely! working abroad is a lot of sacrifices. But because we want to help our family we choose to leave to earn and save more money. The first thing that we must surpass if we work  abroad is the home sickness. We must also flexible enough so that we can adopt easily in their culture. Creating good relationship to others is a good thing to do so that it will lessen are burden of work and life.

Hey guys,I just wanted to share some tips when you are planning to work outside your country or if you wanted to work abroad.
First you need to know things about the country you are planning to go or work.Knowing their cultures and tradition will help you a lot when you are already there.
Second is to know the rules of your target country. Some country especially in middle East have very strict rules and  if you guys come from an open city then u have to adjust a lot in their rules.
Third and most important is be mentally, emotionally and physically prefered.,you will come there to work. You need to sacrifice a lot of things and even your family. As for my experience homesickness is very hard to beat especially when you are used to do things with your love ones like celebrating ocassions. Here you will celebrate those days alone.
So if you guys have other tips on working abroad please comment here and share your thoughts.
I hope this topic can help people who wanted to go to other country for work.I wish you goodluck guys.!

I agree with this. Many Filipino going abroad to earn money for their families. They need to sacrifice all their time to spend in abroad to earn a money for their families because they think that in their job in the Philippines is not enough to fulfill the needs of their family because the salary is not enough for their everyday needs.

Yes it is a lot of sacrifice. To work abroad means leaving your family and everything that you are used to or comfortable with. An overseas worker will experience a lot of things. It will be a major adjustment in terms of religion, beliefs, norms etc. They will be living with unknown people which make it more difficult for them. They also need to adjust in the working environment - this is the hardest part in my opinion. I admire those people who work abroad because they will sacrifice their happiness just to fulfill their dreams and provide financial support for their family.

Yes, working abroad needs a lot of sacrifices and courage to spent a day without your family. However, on today's technology we can easily use such as Skype, Video calling through messenger or even have a call through our phone, we cannot deny the fact that they are lacking in the times they are with us especially during Christmas and birthdays.

A lot of members from my family are working abroad. Some leave their own family just to strive for more money to send back home. My dad works abroad for more than 10 years now and leaving home is really hard for him. It’s a sacrifice for the ones you love.

its really a sacrifice,i experience it from my sister, from her first time to work abroad its quite difficult. She always cry every time we talk to her.Even she is denying it. Aside from being far from your love ones the other problem is if your employer is not kind.So think before you leave your country and work abroad.

wroking abroad is very hard and a lot of sacrifice.

1, you need to be away from your family and have your life alone  overseas
2, You are working in a place new to you and no one to lean on in hard times
3, you need to save money and adjust your meal in order to send money back home for the family you left.
4, your life is not sure that  your safe ,

Absolutely right, thanks for the advice. Working abroad is hard you need to be prepared emotionally, mentally and physically. I really admired those people working abroad for their family.
Right. You must be ready for great difficulties, a language barrier, etc. But often the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and it's worth it.  To be honest, I dream of moving abroad...

Yes its true. A lot of sacrifice because they are far from their love ones, working hard for their family, caring of people there not connected. Its hard for OFW's to work abroad but they need to do it for their families, so they have a money to buy foods and anything they need. We should be proud to our OFW's in many country.

I would recommend you spend as much time with your family as you can, and also set aside time each day to have Skype video calls with them.

You have a lot more courage than I do because I would not be able to move away from my loved ones to work abroad.
