Yes working abroad is a lot sacrifice , and a person working in abroad must have a strong will. Many people working abroad because of lack in financial , and must have to earn money for the sake if their family. Leaving their family to work abroad is difficult , for the person who work and for the family to stay. It is not easy goung to leave family , and can cause people a homesick.

It is really hard working abroad. First, you will be away from your family. This is really hard especially if you are really attached to your loved ones back home. Second, you don't have any friends abroad. It will be a big adjustment in culture, weather, and even the people there.

That is true, working abroad is not an easy job especially when you are a emotional person. You will sacrifice the life to be with your family.

If you are that emotional, then you need to decide where your priority lies. There are two choices - either you can earn good salary by staying away from your family, or you can earn a low salary by living with your family. You need to make the decision. In life, you will never get all the things that you need. You need to learn on how to adjust with whatever you get.

Hey guys,I just wanted to share some tips when you are planning to work outside your country or if you wanted to work abroad.
First you need to know things about the country you are planning to go or work.Knowing their cultures and tradition will help you a lot when you are already there.
Second is to know the rules of your target country. Some country especially in middle East have very strict rules and  if you guys come from an open city then u have to adjust a lot in their rules.
Third and most important is be mentally, emotionally and physically prefered.,you will come there to work. You need to sacrifice a lot of things and even your family. As for my experience homesickness is very hard to beat especially when you are used to do things with your love ones like celebrating ocassions. Here you will celebrate those days alone.
So if you guys have other tips on working abroad please comment here and share your thoughts.
I hope this topic can help people who wanted to go to other country for work.I wish you goodluck guys.!
I agree with you !  My father worked abroad , he really missed his family . That's a biggest problem when anyone want to work abroad

Working abroad is fun and cool. If you're own country behaves like a shithole I guess.
And if you miss your family - try to raise and earn enough to draw them all to the new place.

Who would disagree?

I have worked 12 years in United Arab Emirates. I enjoy my time, but of course miss my family and my home country. However, i need to do this for monetray rewards. I also try not to live with expats but rather the local community, which i much prefer. Glad to see others people talking of sacrafice, its not always easy like people back home say.I believe that while a man is not married, he can go to work and make his fortune...because when he has a wife and children - it is difficult and physically and emotionally for everyone. If you are that emotional, then you need to decide where your priority lies. There are two choices - either you can earn good salary by staying away from your family, or you can earn a low salary by living with your family. You need to make the decision. In life, you will never get all the things that you need. You need to learn on how to adjust with whatever you get.

I agree, You will also feel the importance of your family's presence when you are alone in other country working. The sacrifice of being away from them just to give them a better life is one of the way to show them how much we love them. Sadly, there are family members who also take advantage of the person who is working abroad. My prayer is that all of the people can stay in their own country with better opportunities so that they don't have to leave their families. Its not always about the money we can give but also our presence and time to bond with them.
Big Yes....working here in abroad is a lot of sacrifices especially being a domestic helper or Maid..its very difficult for us as a maid working here in abroad because no matter how we like to sleep early we couldnt do because ww still need to work hard and finish everything to keep..we do sacrifice for our love families..because we want them to give better life than us..we dont like that our children will do the same thing as we did as a being helper...ww want our children to be educated someday, thats why we need sacrifice for their sake.

It all depends on a lot of parameters but I would say that it depends above all on what your motivation for immigrating is. There's no doubt it's a lot of sacrifices, especially when the immigration is not chosen (running away from a critical situation in your home country, making a better living so you can send money to your family etc). But for some other people it can be a salvation. I left my country several times bc ironically I was not feeling in my place there. Immigrating is also widening your horizon, widening your mind, learning new things everyday, becoming more tolerant, more flexible, pushing your limits... it can sometimes be such a breakthrough and a beautiful journey for the curious ones. Especially now that the new technologies allow you to be in touch with your beloved ones at any time. Think about immigration 50 years ago!
I know about the homesickness sometimes, the distate of local food, people etc. In my country, expatriation is marketed as something that is all about fun. "Expatriates are always travelling or always partying, they speak 2 or 3 langages...awesome".  But they never mention the bad aspects. Yes, you can go through tough times, that's why I think it is ESENTIAL to immigrate in a place where you know you're gonna find other expatriates. Some ppl you can talk to when you're feeling down and whom you know they're gonna understand you. But keep in mind that it is a unique experience that is gonna make you be who you are. Not just a typical latino, african, european, america, asian etc. but a complex being that is beautiful and has a lot of stories to tell.

She can go back anytime but she was thinking about the future of her family. Sometines money is so powerful that it keeps us away from our love ones.

I agree with your post. But many of the countries (especially the GCC nations such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) doesn't permit the expat workers to bring their families. Once their contracts expire, they are expected to go back to their own nations. And it is not fun and cool always. In the GCC, you may be asked to work for up to 12 hours a day.

Yes, i agree it will take some time to adjust to the place where your families and friends are a thousand miles away and its a lot of sacrifice including your daily routine where you came from. The loneliness and the emptiness while you work abroad knowing and hoping that everything is alright back home. But thats the thing. We sometimes dont have a choice and we just have to be strong to live far away from our families to earn money for their better future.

indeed, it is a lot of sacrifice especially to your family who is left at home. When you are married, you are half-emptied always because your other half is miles away from you. Also the culture of other countries is different from yours so you need a big adjustment and you have to adapt theirs in order for you not to break their law.

Yes working abroad is an ultimate sacrifice. Behind every story of success is a story of difficult choices of parents longing to see their sons and daughters grow, and of their children wanting them to stay. Leaving your family and friends to earn money or to build future is not easy step. One has to sacrifice his life for betterment of his family's future. It becomes  really hard especially if you are really attached to your loved ones back home.
Finally its your choice either you can earn good salary by staying away from your family or you can earn a low salary by living with your family.

I don't think that it's a sacrifice. If your employer is fair everything will be fine.
Act as usual and behave. Nothing bad gonna happen to you.

Yeah, not me, but a friend recently started staying abroad to study and he had to work for years to save up, sell his flat, store all his possessions, then fly around the world, find a place, and adapt to living there, get used to the food etc. He says it's amazing, but maybe that's just because it was what he always wanted to do so it was just the right thing for him.

This is ought to be true. I mean it is not really that easy working abroad away from your family and the people that you got used to. What makes it more different is the different culture that a person may experience on which ever country he or she is working at. In addition, the whether makes it more difficult for the health of the person who's working abroad. So, it is not really easy as it seems.

Yes. It was a lot of sacrifice moreover on your family if you are parents having kids. Even long distance to your love ones to give them the better and comfortable life. The loneliness and emptiness you feel of being alone and just think you are strong enough to fight it for your family. There are lot of OFW working other countries which they treat just like an animals and they are suffer from abuse but they think for their families sake.
