It's a sacrifice since you'd have to deal with homesickness (which can lead to depression) not to mention having to work on a small budget. I have relatives working abroad so I know. America and Europe seem fine when it comes to worker's right though. It seems most of the abuse happen in the Middle East, and to some extent East Asia.

Why not work at home, then?

If you are an expert in coding or programming, then you may be having the option of working from home. The salary may be a tad lower, but then you can work from the comfort of your home. But that can't be said about the blue collar workers who don't have any skills other than their labor. How can a mason or a plumber work from his home?

Hey guys,I just wanted to share some tips when you are planning to work outside your country or if you wanted to work abroad.
First you need to know things about the country you are planning to go or work.Knowing their cultures and tradition will help you a lot when you are already there.
Second is to know the rules of your target country. Some country especially in middle East have very strict rules and  if you guys come from an open city then u have to adjust a lot in their rules.
Third and most important is be mentally, emotionally and physically prefered.,you will come there to work. You need to sacrifice a lot of things and even your family. As for my experience homesickness is very hard to beat especially when you are used to do things with your love ones like celebrating ocassions. Here you will celebrate those days alone.
So if you guys have other tips on working abroad please comment here and share your thoughts.
I hope this topic can help people who wanted to go to other country for work.I wish you goodluck guys.!

Working abroad is the hardest sacrifice specially if you're a parent. It's not easy living too far from your family alone. You need to be strong while working too far from them because you need to give them a great future. It is really hard for parents to live each day knowing that their kids need them to guide them. But some of us doesn't have any choice but to sacrifice.

And not just homesick but a lot of temptations.  Leaving abroad for work can make or break your family.  It is the start of having and looking to have a good life for your family.  But something got broekn, your relationship with them.  Sometimes separation came from husband and wife as they do not become faithful to each other.

Working abroad needs a lot of strength physically and emotionally. Homesick is a number one challenge that we need to face upon entering a job abroad. Always look at the positive outcome of what you are doing when you miss your family in your country. Yes it is really hard to survive life without them but just think of their future the moment that you're feeling alone.

I agree that when you work in other countries, you will also feel the importance of your family presence. It's hard to wake up every morning and realize you're the only one in your family.

Working abroad has a lot of sacrifices, first of all is the absence of your family. You will experience home sick because you will miss them. Second is the difficulty of adjusting from your culture to the culture that you are working.Lastly, is the temptation, when you are away from your family especially away from your partner you will have a chance to have a sexual relationship with other person

Yes, a lot of sacrifice because you are too far from your family. You do household chores and prepare your things alone. If you want them to visit you then need to spend much money. But if you look at the bright side that sacrifice is worth it because you can support the needs and wants of your family. Remember that there are many ways of communications now adays to get in touch with them.

Sometimes you need to  make a very hard decision even if it means breaking your heart. Yes, there is a sacrifice but think of the good cause that it will give your family. They can have a decent life and finish their studies or buy things they want. It's hard but it is worth it.

Our life being an Overseas Filipino Workers is never been relaxed and easy. Why? Since we have to take the risk and sacrifices in leaving our family and friends behind to work in a foreign land thousands of miles away from home. Searching to find much higher salary to support the daily needs of our family and gives a better future for them. Some of us are parents, who are not able to take good care of our children because we are thousands miles away from them. As we stay in the country that we are working, we need to adjust ourselves to almost everything. Like language, our way of living, culture, costumes and foods. And we need to set aside our beliefs and values in life that we practice when we are still a small kid until we are growing older. Working abroad is such an opportunity because not everyone can go and work there.

In my country (I was born in Nepal, although I became an Indian citizen later), working abroad has almost become a norm. Some one-third to a half of all the adults are working abroad, in countries such as India, Malaysia, GCC nations (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait.etc), and Thailand. The government has failed to provide employment options back home, so we are forced to travel abroad.

Working abroad is a very hard sacrifice thats we can do to our loved ones. Being alone in a country with different culture and different belief is hard for a stranger but we need to surpass these things for our family. We need to be emotionally strong as we work abroad and earn for our family's better living. It may be hard but it is a great accomplishment for us.

This is really a great help when planning to work to other country. I am not fan of working on a foreign country, I am not sure if can handle it. Also, I cannot leave my families here as well as my friends, that's why I am doing my best to make a living here on my own country.
