What is the common cause of poverty?

In my place, the two biggest reasons are over-population and alcoholism. As people are getting educated, the first issue is getting resolved. But the second issue is getting worse every year.

Indecision is the cause of all poverty. Governments and individuals  inability to make pertinent decisions about their future and stand by those decisions has killed  so many  dreams,dreams of countries and individuals.

I think one of the reason of poverty in one country is that there are lot of people in the government are corrupt, and greed because of money, they rob the money in the government.

Lack of education.
Education is very important. If all the people are educated, we can solve poverty.
But there are still educated people who are experiencing poverty. Why? Because there are lot of politicians claiming that they are educated even they're not. Why did I say that? Because if they are educated, they will not promote corruption. Yes, corruption. If they will not corrupt the money of the peolple that they are serving, they can use those money in building of livelihood projects or anything that can help everyone.
But for me, the problem is with in us. We are the one who put them in their position. If we are just well educated, we can choose the right person who can lead us to scape poverty. And don't forget to always consider God.

The main cause of poverty is lock of education. Many politicians abuse the fund of the government because they know that can use their beautiful words to make people believe in them. If we are only aware what is happening in our society today, you will be angry on some of the corrupt politicians.

The first answer is right. It's an environment lottery.

You may be lucky to be born in a family that knows how to treat money properly and just learn those skills from childhood.

You may be not born in a family with good financial skills but you may come across right people who can teach you these.

Or come across right books and right videos and use your knowledge to search for right opportunities to climb the financial ladder (my case).

Or you may be unlucky for all of the above.

The point is - your brain is inclined to attribute everything you succeeded at to your hard work and put a large discount on this environmental luck factor. So don't get big headed. If you worked your way from the bottom to be successful  then nothing will bring you so much long term pleasure as sending that elevator back down.

There are many reasons of poverty, but lack of education and corruption is its main reason. Politicians are thinking of their personal interests due to which the society is not balanced, as money lies in few hands. Due to which public is unable to get good education, illiteracy is contributing to poverty but the root evil is corruption.

No, I disagree. Authorities do not literally drive our dreams. We, our self is the cause of our own poverty and hunger. Because of our laziness and intact traditional actions are the main cause of our sufferings. Having good discipline and advanced knowledge that we acquire in school and experience is the great tool to solve poverty.

Lack of awareness of every citizen about the importance of taxes as well as governments who do not think of their citizens. In this case the government does not create jobs for unemployment. Most important is the science or education is still lacking.

WTF? What do you want us to do? Donate 100% of our income as taxes to the government? I am living in India, and here the salaried class is paying as much as 75% of their total income in the form of direct and indirect taxes. And the worst thing is that only 2% of the population pays their taxes. The remaining 98% are parasites, who leach off this 2%.

Education,almost all company and businesses hire employees who are educated although not necessary a graduate of a particular course but atleast have an elementary education.If you're educated then your education will help you  improve your status in life by having a job and if all have an education then companies  will hire them,there will be no unemployment coz erryone has a job.Poverty will be minimized.

My speculation of why a country is experiencing poverty is 'corrupt from a government institution' that's why some countries in Asia are suffering from unemployment, poor health, and education. Well..we know every country has taxes that will be allocated for development and prosperity of society but the reality is different in some countries the government only use taxes for the wealth of the corrupt only

there are only two causes of poverty in a country that occur first because of a bad government mechanism and secondly because of a lack of educational culture. as we know developed countries like in some European countries have sophisticated and modern technological innovation because the people who have good education and japanese knowledge that has a government responsible for the community and become one of the countries have good quality and intelligent government.
