What is the common cause of poverty?

Poverty is a condition of one in which one is unable live a standard life. Basically unemployment and lack of education could be  fundamental causes of poverty. Lack of political will to eradicate poverty could be also major cause of this vicious circle of poverty.

Largely due to the environment they are placed in. Some countries are corrupt beyond belief and have little to no assets. The combination of the two, plus poor education / insufficient nutrition for development creates a vicious and ongoing cycle that is nearly impossible to break.

Actually the common cause of poverty is corruption and global warming...some of the reason and cause why its getting worst of poverty because of poor education..about the pollution thats why alot of children and old people are sick...so we must always get ready for the risk,what about the others what is your opinion about that question?

Political reasons: civil war, coup, regional war. Government officials are busy dealing with internal and external enemies, and people are too busy fighting for basic survival to build the country.

Geography: the environment is not conducive to economic development!

There are also population reasons, the population explosion, the poorer the more.

Lazyness can be the primary reason for poverty. I am not saying that someone can be classified as lazy only if he refuses to work. IMO, lazy people include those individuals who have no interest in acquiring new skills. If you want to succeed in life, then you should work hard and at the same time you should constantly strive to improve your skill-set.

I think laziness is one of the common cause of poverty. If and only if people of every nation will find job for their family our country will not suffer from poverty. Other causes are lack of access to education because of financial problem, lack of resources and corruption and health/illness.

Most of the lower class people experience hunger and poverty because of the government that destroys people's money. Instead of helping them in charitable activities for education or giving them a good job, they ruin it and put it in their own pockets. So that people in need of government assistance do not give importance.

For me the main reason why there still experiencing poverty was over populated our natural resources doesn't depend in our population for us to survived we need to adjust on the natural capability of our environment. Especially to those country that has limited resources due to poor geographical location.

I think the common causes of poverty especially in our country are the lack of quality education, unequal income distribution wherein the rich and their families get richer and the poor to only get poorer to the point of not being able to acquire basic necessities, overpopulation and the worst is corruption.

In our country the most common cause of poverty is the corruption in the government, here in the Philippines that can be considered as the number one cause of poverty. If we think well, there are many things we can see that are a common cause of poverty. First is the theft of politicians who sit in government, The second does not pay proper taxes from wealthy businessmen and more. It's like the behavior of others who do not want to see their peers have a better / better life.
