The Russian government seems to be too indecisive about cryptocurrencies. Earlier the head of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina had said that they will not allow the use of crypto-currency as a surrogate money. Soon after this, the Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov had said that there is no point in prohibiting cryptocurrencies and that they will regulate cryptos by the end of 2017. And now the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Russia, Sergei Shvetsov has stated that Russia will block access to websites belonging to cryptocurrency exchanges. Looks like a ping-pong between the Russian finance ministry and the central bank.

Haha true. But dont believe until any official announcement is made. Moreover it has been done right at the time when a hard fork is just coming up. Curious to see the reaction of investors. Because if this happens we might see a price decline again.
Well, sometimes things are not very clear till they are announced! We can't really rely on this because I think only time will reveal the truth behind this matter. And people should stay away from spreading negative FUDs because that's what normally devastated value of bitcoin in the past. Sometimes "Big Whales" set up a speculation that end-up with negative FUD which might hurt the value of bitcoin and other coins as well in order for them to buy some coins more cheaper from the people that panics. I think people should be very careful with what they are saying about bitcoin because the value is still recovering. Cool

It seems the Russians are going to follow the Chinese lead and ban all cryptocurrency exchanges and am sure that like the Chinese, they are going to license them in the near future and regulate the whole thing so that they can get some money from taxing all those exchanges.

This is a likely outcome. Regulation, licensing and taxation of exchanges and miners - that's what they are after.

Russia is not banning Bitcoin, they are are banning their own economy, just like China did.
Cryptocurrencies are the only and last chance to replace
the US Dollar as the world leading currency!
The whole world should be thankful for that, specially Russia and China.

So just eat it or die, but pls stfu!

Russia is doing the same thing as China. They bann all the exchangers and ICO's so they can open a new powerful exchanger , so they can make profit from that. Maybe they are thinking to even open their own cryptocurrency. Anyway there is no official news from government saying anything about bitcoin so until that will happen we have to wait.

the news coming from Russia has never been any better from news coming from China. there is too many contradiction between what we read on the news and what really is happening and also people like OP always mistake the news by assuming the worse. he calls it "banning BTC".

in reality what is happening is that Russia has closed down exchanges because of the ICO scams that has been happening and all the money that goes into those.

Despite this news, Bitcoin prices have risen sharply, confirming one thing. Countries such as China and Russia do not have much influence on this market and Bitcoin is being distributed all over the world.

I am not sure about the validity of the news because whenever there is a price increase all the fud news start spreading like wild fire so that people start selling off their coins,Russia might be planning to regulate their exchanges and nothing else,i hope this rally gets past the five thousand dollar mark and set a new record.

I do not know if it is true.  Let say it is true, there is nothing we should be worry about.  We have seen and heard things like that about banning and even saying bitcoin is fraud.  Nothing happened at bitcoin because many are still supporting bitcoin.  It is a time for everyone to buy more bitcoins because for sure bitcoin price will goes up again.

Probably it was anticipated that what Bitcoin brought would be detrimental to the government and the central bank. It is normal for Bitcoin to be banned in some countries. They do not control it so they can not accept it. So they turned around and started banning it, they were afraid of it developing and losing the advantage of their money

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read the article. It's all about shaping the ability to control what they can't control.

No. They are not indecisive about cryptos. They are really against it from the very beginning that's why you will see that they are really assert the opposite of a statement made by someone in their government. And I'm very skeptical from the start of them opening their mouths for bitcoin. And this statements validates my hutch. So don't trust anything coming from them and I'm expecting that they will not support any crypto's, not bitcoin and Ethereum, which Putin says he like. LOL.

That might be the real reason behind this article. All that I read from another article is the banning of bitcoin within the country by Russia longback and later with the help of an financial research team analysed the need of the blockchain technology and now this has got implemented into their financial administration.

As soon as we reach $ 5000 there is a ban somewhere!

Well said mate. If the price keep increasing steadily, then bitcoins can easily reach at 5K milestone and it will attract the attention of government authorities to check if there is any wrong things and they might impose strict restriction and ban on the bitcoins.

I think the Russian government has legalized Bitcoin in his country, is this a game of investors, so they can drop the bitcoin price and then buy it for sale later on ??

I saw news today, there was writed that Bitcoins destiny will be decided till New Year. I think that Russia will not go step by step after China but there is big risk that Cryptocurrencies will be banned.
All that WE can do is only watch...No one can influence on that decision..
Hope I`m wrong and all will Be OK.
