China, Nepal already banned bitcoins. Now Russia is going to join the list of bitcoin banned countries. This is not a good news for cryptocommunity if its real. If Russia ban bitcoins, it will definitely affect the price of all digital coins or may lead to a crash in price of bitcoins. Also it will affect the upcoming ICO's  . I really hope this news is fake.

i think this is FUD NEWS. they want to manipulate bitcoin they want to buy more because end of this month the price of bitcoin will stay at 5,000usd or higher maybe 6,000 or 7,000. Russia is legalizing bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and there's a lot of ICO in their country. so this news is FUD

I recently read about it, but unfortunately I'm not sure it's a reliable source of information. Is there anyone who knows 100%, is this some information? Why did this happen?

will be big news at the end of the year,
China forbids cryptocurrency and makes good news that makes bitcoin down,
whether this will be repeated in russia, all remains a big question mark as bitcoin prices are now rising,
hopefully this is just a news nonsense that makes everyone panicky..

It doesn't matter if russia bans it, but it wouldn't surprise me. Russia is a communism just like china, so it makes great sense that they want to control their people. It wont matter really, because bitcoin is designed to be unstoppable. It would take all putins wealth to stop it, and I doubt he would use that much money on it. He'd rather buy 10000 more rockets.

I don't think Putin is interested in stopping bitcoin.  He's endorsed mining operations and probably Russia will become a competitor to China in that.

Communism is really mostly dead, even in Russia and China.  They still have some fascist practices certainly, but they haven't been real Communists in a long time.

He is a big supporter of Vitalik and Ethereum, if you look at media reporting : https://www.coindesk.com/vladimir-putin-vitalik-buterin-discuss-ethereum-opportunities-recent-forum/

The Russians are cunning enough to ban one Crypto currency in favour of another and I will never put this past Putin. You

can also not believe anything that are being reported there, because it change from day to day, depending on what mood

they are in.  Roll Eyes

Well if it is true we can not do anything with it we will just have to wait for the market price to reach $4000 again, well it is a little bit good because bitcoin will be going down again and it is the right time to buy more then wait for the rise up lol.

I do not believe Russia will ban Bitcoin. I know Russia banned bitcoin exchange not ban bitcoin (According to the article) .So like China, the Russian Government wants to manage bitcoin. According to me whether that happens is also not worrying. Let's look at the ban in China bitcoin prices not dump.

Make me great again

In the past I've heard some good news about Russia that they will regulate crypto soon and they are also inviting Bitcoin miners. Another news said by some Russian (I don't know his name exactly) "It is illogical to ban Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies".
I'm now wondering why would they ban? Or they plan to regulate it? Can't trust this news.

I don't think that this will be happen. Since Russia is a free country, people who is living in that state chooses whatever they want. I think they are no CHINA, because they are different. Go bitcoins, this cryptocurrency might control PResidents power even. Cheesy

Russia are just blocking the web based exchanges of Bitcoin, I believe they are not banning it completely. Even I think they might be regulating it and bring out systematic and tracked exchange.
Recently there is news that China will or might resume cryptocurrency trading by licensing exchanges and implementing (KYC) Know Your Customer and (AML) Anti-Money Laundering systems.

So I hope Russia will be starting to regulate the exchanges, trying to curb corruption and illegitimate activities.

If the Russians try to ban the exchange websites, then it will be a very stupid move. Nowadays even the schoolchildren are aware of VPNs and web-proxies. The Bitcoin users are not going to be affected if the government blocks the exchange websites. But it will become harder for the Russian authorities to track the users and to tax profits on Bitcoin.

In two years I can't count how many threads I saw about Russia banning bitcoins, arresting people who using bitcoins, and what happened from all that rumors, I will tell you nothing happened.
Like recent situation with China, what happened in the end? They will have couple legitimate exchangers, same will do the Russia. Russia is supporting China in everything they do with crypto currencies, now it will be the same, they will ban some exchanger sites and they will support others that they can control, that is how they dictatorship governments like to do.

I heard about these many days ago that Russia will be banning bitcoin and I even heard that Russia was trying to get of hold of the bitcoin in their own country. If Russia bans bitcoin it can create a problem for bitcoin to reach 5000 dollars or if after reaching 5000 dollars the ban may lower the value of bitcoin or slow the growth.

If this is true, Russia will fail to stem the rising tide of cryptocurrency usage and popularity. Rather than move backwards, the Russian government should embrace bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and figure out ways to capitalize on their growth. Banning it will only encourage underground use.
