Thank you for your interest! To answer you questions: Coin supply is linked to the total GDP of Africa. Africa GDP is currently $2,223,837,000,000 US. The total coin supply will be adjusted once a year. If GDP goes up, more coins will be issued, if it goes down, excess coins will be burned and value redistributed. PoS will kick in after mining period ends. Mining will be complete, and the total coin circulation will equal GDP value. If GDP drops, and coins need to be burned, this will also be based off of Pos. Some of you coins will be burned, but the value will be redistributed to the remaining tokens. This way, your coin value remains in tacked. Same holds true for an increase. Coins will be distributed depending on the amount of coins in your wallet. Hope this helps. Best, Tiaan

Thank you for you kind feedback! We truly believe in what we are doing. We will have minimal control over the currency once it is in circulation, and will keep only 3% of coins that will be shared amongst the team and original investor. Our aim for this is a truly decentralized currency, controlled by the users only, and not by us or any other entity.

Hi okan, That is correct. There will only be one distribution a year. The adjustment will be made in the 4th quarter of each year, as soon as a new report is released. Stats are obtained from IMF (International Monetary Fund) Best, Tiaan

- Adjustable Transaction Anonymity Levels
- Variable Transaction Address
- Enhanced & Encrypted Security
We have decided to delay Pre-ICO and Public ICO. Users will soon be able to mine UNA, and ICO will launch after sufficient traction.

If this coin is for Africa, why is there an ICO This should be completely mineable Thank you for your interest, and for raising your concerns. To answer your question. We will only sell a small percentage of coins during the ICO. The reason for this is to raise funds that will allow us to further develop the infrastructure, and also to launch mobile wallet apps. The Una team however will only keep 1% of total token supply. We have great ambitions for Una, but to get there, we will need proper partnerships and infrastructure that would allow people to use Una on a daily basis (Point of Sale, Wallet App, Partnerships, Marketing Campaigns, etc). Una will not succeed without investing further in tech that would facilitate adoption. The coin will become worthless if don't have any way to actually spend or use it in a real world scenario. People in Africa mostly use cash, and getting them to adopt Una will require a strong marketing effort. They will also need to be able to use it for every day product purchases.

Thank you! Our biggest features would be faster transactions, increased privacy on small transactions and more equal mining. Our transactions are confirmed within 90 seconds, which is needed in real world environments. For mining, you can use a basic laptop or pc, and do not require any advanced equipment. Our supply also adjusts to GDP of Africa on a yearly basis. We are currently a small development team of 5 based in South Africa, and Europe. This however is an open source project, and anybody can become and member. Regards, Tiaan

Hi, Our block creation algo was created by our head developer. It automatically adjusts each new block size depending on previous block height. This ensures that confirmations are confirmed within our 90 seconds timeframe. No official mining pool yet. Will keep you updated on further developments. We are in discussion with HitBTC to list on their exchange first. Best,

When the pool ready? What's algo? Hi, Thank you for your interest. We originally wanted to create a pool, but that will not be necessary given features of Una. We will soon introduce integrated wallet mining, which would allow you to mine Una simply by opening your wallet. There will also be equal distribution of rewards, with early adopters benefiting the most due to increasing difficulty.

Hi, Thank you for your interest. The main purpose of Una is to give African people a alternative digital currency that is viable and actually usable in real world scenarios. Bitcoin for example is currently too expensive for transactions, and also takes a long time to be confirmed. This makes it non-viable, especially in emerging markets where people mostly trade using cash. Another problem with Bitcoin is the fact that is so valuable, and mostly just a store of value. Imagine if people had to pay 0,00002150 for a coke. It doesn't make sense for people when it comes to pricing, as it is more difficult to determine whether they are overpaying for a product. Una overcomes all of these issues, while also allowing for a more equal distribution of coins, as well as lower energy consumption during mining. We have released full specs on website. Fee free to have a look.

Tech specs released! Visit website to find out more.
Hello Found this at your website Due to the nature of UnA, mining pools are not required. Coins are distributed equally along all miners since mining takes place directly from the UnA wallet. No technical knowledge or expensive equipment is required. As long as you wallet is open, mining will run in the background. You wallet will also be encrypted and require a password to access after it has been left unattended for a few minutes. This is to ensure security. I dont get it, your wallet mines coins automaticaly, or it is POS based system and I need to keep coins in the wallet to stake them?

I dont get it, your wallet mines coins automaticaly, or it is POS based system and I need to keep coins in the wallet to stake them? Hi, and thank you for your interest. We use a PoW based system, and not PoS. Mining pools are normally used to combine processing power for better rewards. UnA does not require a lot of processing power, and only uses your CPU to mine. As mining difficulty increases, it increases equally for everyone, regardless of processing power. Wallet mining is not yet operational, but the basic idea of this is that the more you use your wallet, the more mining rewards you will earn since it runs in the background. Everybody will have a equal opportunity to mine, as they only need to use or open their wallets. Hope this helps.

Hi, Progress is going great, especially in terms of development. New website was also just recently launched. We do plan to list on exchanges, and are currently in talks with hitBTC , Cryptopia and Bittrex. It does however require quite a lot of capital to get listed, so we are now working on getting some funding. I have no doubt that we’ll achieve what we set out to do. We have a great team and the community has also been mostly supportive. This is an open source project, so we do rely heavily on community to assist in all aspects. Bounties will also be launched soon, to provide community members with more incentives for referrals etc.

Will work continue on this project? It is always sad to jump into something and then never see it progress or reach the exchanges. Is an exchange in the pipeline? How are things going with the project in general? Thanks
Bounties will also be launched soon, to provide community members with more incentives for referrals etc. also try to add at - Stocks.exchanges - tradesatoshi - coinsmarket it would be nice for shortly

Hi, We were thinking of creating a pool, but since we are soon launching integrated wallet mining, it won’t be necessary.

I truly want to thank this team for taking this initiative of introducing something like this to developing countries. Indeed not only IT but Crypto exposure of booming sector now. I personally hare banks and want to have control over my funds. Crypto is the future of all savings and investment. I understand this is a volatile market but then if we spend sometime to understand how this works, I am sure all of us can make some profits.
This also gives people an opportunity for financial freedom. Thank you once again for all your efforts.
Good Luck and I shall closely track this project.

Looks like a good project since I am interested about mining lately. I'd like to mine but gpu mining is quite expensive so I am glad there's an alternative which is PoW. I'll read more of this and hope if I participate won't strain my CPU much while mining. I do hope this project makes it to the market so that it'll benefit everyone especially African people. I also like how the dev responds quickly to all of the inquiries makes me think that this project can really be trusted and would be worth the time spent.

Thank you for the amazing feedback! We are working hard on building a strong community and the support has been great thus far. We focused on making mining more accessible and efficient, and you can be rest assured that it won't put a lot of strain on your CPU. We will soon be launching integrated wallet mining, which should make things even easier since it won't require you to run mining operations through the daemon. Also, keep an eye out for the release of the new wallet later today. We have added QR support and added the new branding. Regards

dev ,what's algo of your coin , and any official pool here? when will hit exchange market ,any plan?
Hi, Our block creation algo was created by our head developer. It automatically adjusts each new block size depending on previous block height. This ensures that confirmations are confirmed within our 90 seconds timeframe. No official mining pool yet. Will keep you updated on further developments. We are in discussion with HitBTC to list on their exchange first. Best, Any news on getting listed on exchanges?

CPU mining costs you more money than you will earn. The dev is a retard for not telling you this and acting like he made the coin cpu mine able friendly for his amazing users when he did not. He just copied the source code from another coin. He did nothing special for you. This coin will not benefit people from Africa just because the dev roleplays he is form Africa. Why are you Africans so amazingly dumb?

The team is based in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa. “Why are you Africans so amazingly dumb?” - This speaks for itself, and clearly shows your maturity level. The devs even lie about this being the first coin while it's not. (We do had Kruger coin that was successful and good but this coin was not made in Africa) Prove me wrong. It's sad that you report posts for an opinion and that you clearly accept lies from devs (or if you are a dev it's sad that you spread lies) who use "the poor people from Africa" as a selling point. They give false hope to poor people who can not afford to buy a pc to mine or who can not afford to buy a laptop to store their coins on. (they can't even buy coins ffs). It would be fair if the devs organized a real airdrop for the locals with lots of proof that they actually spread the coins fairly over the poor people so they can benefit really from this, so far the only people who benefit from this are rich people.

You are quick to judge a project without even knowing whether the intentions are good or not. You probably didn’t even try the wallet or mining. You would have quickly realized that it’s possible to mine with entry level laptops. That’s what’s so great about this. Also, the majority of people in Africa actually have access to mobile phones and laptops, even if poverty is a harsh reality. You clearly know very little about this continent. It’s up and coming technology wise. We never even mentioned anything about “poor people in Africa”, so not playing that card. This coin was made in Africa. I don’t know where you get your information. South Africa is the southern most country in Africa, in case you didn’t know. If you don’t like the project, move on to something else.

Hi, I too can vouch for the mining of this coin. I currently have just over 1000 coins mined by a old core 2 duo desktop pc that a business discarded many years ago, it even had XP on it. I simply upgraded to Win 7, downloaded wallet, and started mining with 2 threads. As for the value of those coins, who knows. I see so many scam coins every single day, but i actually mine all of them because completely out of the blue 1 of them ends up on an exchange at 1 sat, and then 1 week later i get an email saying they are at 18,000 sats, and by the time i get to the exchange they are 20,000 sats (it actually rose to 35,000 before dropping to 300)....that is the completely random nature of crypto coins....it is all luck and a massive gamble...if you want safety, use a bank and a Casino. I for one will keep on with all these new coins, and cross my fingers, and wish them all well. To the future J

There will be resistance like with anything new. Bitcoin had the same problem for a long time (Still have in many instances). The idea is to have UNA serve as a store of value initially, and then later to start building partnerships with banks so that UNA can be used as a method of exchange. Mpesa is a popular method of payment in many African countries. It's basically mobile money, but not crypto, and has been widely adopted. This shows that African countries are open to new financial advancements.

Have you backed up your wallet? If so, you can just copy and paste the backup file in the Una install folder.

Even if you didn't backup your wallet and while creating new wallet you did not overwrite default .wallet file that you can still get it. Just click open wallet and find default .wallet file in blockchain folder. Path for UnA blockchain: Windows: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\una Mac OSX/Linux: ~/.una

We used cryptonote technology (same tech used by Monero), which is open source and the whole purpose of decentralzation. What is your point? Do you have any proof that we copied code from any other coin? We actually don’t need to do any roleplaying.. The team is based in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa. “Why are you Africans so amazingly dumb?” - This speaks for itself, and clearly shows your maturity level. It’s sad that people like you are bringing down the bitcointalk community. It's sad that every African coin so far is an internet cafe scam. This is the reality. UnAProject developers here. Obviously you don't understand a thing about this project and Africa. 1. "CPU mining cost you more than you will earn." That is a ridicules statement. You do not understand cryptocurrency in total. Instead of insulting people take some time for self-education. 2. "He just copied the source code from another coin." Tell us which coin we copied? We just used cryptonote algorithm which was created for that purpose. UnA is independent (do not depend from any platform like Ethereum) fully functional and complete cryptocurrency with unique economy system. 3."This coin will not benefit people from Africa just because the dev roleplays he is form Africa." How do you even possible know where we are we from and that we lie about something? We are from Africa and know much more about this continent than you do and you just prove it with you nonsense about poor people from Africa (this continent is much more developed than you think). 4. “Why are you Africans so amazingly dumb?” It is very clear who is dumb here.

How do I mine? I installed the wallet, now what? Hi, In the download folder, you’ll find a readme file with all the information. To start mining, open the unanetwork file, just wait for the network to synchronize. Once that is done, type “start_mining” followed by your una address that can be found in the wallet. That’s it. During the mining process, you can type “help” for additional commands. Also, be sure to type “exit” when you want to stop mining

How is the African crypto ecosystem different from other systems around the globe?

How is the African crypto ecosystem different from other systems around the globe?
That's a good question. Poverty is the most obvious and well known problem in many African countries. The people in these countries cannot afford high transaction costs. This is one of the bottlenecks that digital currencies such as Bitcoin face. UNA on the other hand, will allow for "almost free" transactions. Transactions also do not become more expensive with the growth of the network. Many people in Africa rely on regular cross-border remittances, since family members may work abroad, and need to send money on a frequent basis. High transaction fees would not be sustainable. Transaction speed will also play a key role in the African ecosystem. Bitcoin is mostly regarded as a store of value, rather that a method of exchange for goods and services. This is mostly due to its slow transaction speeds. In developed countries, this is not a very big issue, since a lot of shopping is done online. In Africa, we are for instance dealing with street vendors / markets and regular taxi services. These types of transactions require faster confirmation, since the vendors cannot wait around for 10 minutes or more for the transactions to be confirmed. Cash and Mobile cash (Mpesa) is currently the primary method of payments in most African countries. With online shopping, transaction speed is not that critical. Most people in Africa cannot afford expensive mining equipment. These people however do have access to entry-level mobile phones and laptops. Since mining UNA requires very little resources, it would be possible for these people to also be rewarded / incentivized with UNA. The idea here is to create an ecosystem of equality, and "free" wealth distribution. Imagine someone in Uganda who has lost her job. She might need to support her family, but cannot do so. With the Una Platform, she will be able to mine UNA on her laptop, and this could serve as an additional source of income. This is also a big value proposition in our fight against poverty. These issues are not isolated to Africa alone, but many other emerging economies as well. Africa however is just the starting point Hope this helps.

Hi, has the wallet fully synchronized? If you open the wallet, you'll see it synchronizing the blocks at the bottom. I suggest you wait for it to fully synchronize. Alternatively, if it's not synchronizing, ensure that your wallet is fully backed up and reinstall the new wallet. It will take a while to synchronize, but all your payments should come through.

Hi dev, do we have social groups for this project, such as telegram and discord (I like this one)... build some social channel so we can talk and help to build the UNA community ! Launched in OCT 2017, and you are still here in 2018 , so I choose to believe ! and the new website design sucks... why you change the design of the website, the pre version is more fashion!

Will give 10,000 UNA each to the first 4 people who post their wallet address. I GPU mined them in a couple of hours while I was setting up a pool, but the coin is going nowhere IMHO and I'd rather give them away to people who think otherwise than just delete the wallet and destroy them.

Will give 10,000 UNA each to the first 4 people who post their wallet address. I GPU mined them in a couple of hours while I was setting up a pool, but the coin is going nowhere IMHO and I'd rather give them away to people who think otherwise than just delete the wallet and destroy them.

Did you recently update the wallet to the new version, or are you still using the old version? Also, have you created a backup for your wallet? I suggest you try removing the install files, and reinstall the latest wallet. Just make sure that you have made a backup BEFORE doing this. When finished, open wallet, and wait for sync. Then Run the Deamon again, and let us know if you are still experiencing these problems.. Best

Hi Alan, Unfortunately at this time, our algo used CPU based PoW only. It's based on CryptoNote, same as Monero. Few people have accesses to proper GPU equipment, and we are therefore focusing on CPU.

Hi Guys,
We are looking for a bounty campaign manager. Does anyone have experience with this? We pay in UNA, and this will form part of the Bounty Allocation.
Thank you in advance.

There aren't any mining pools (which should tell you something almost 3 months after launch...) but I set my own up in about an hour and mined 40K UNA in no time at all. It's not even remotely CPU only, and answers like this from the dev are why I promptly gave all 40K away.

I don't think so. 1 - dev(s) said the PoW is CPU-only, which is NOT (devs could choose yescript if they wish) 2 - is a fork of monero without Copyright Notice (See the wallet: all the Copyright is from Una Team, lol) 3 - Pre-mine. I don't think premine(1-5%) is a bad thing itself with a proper roadmap, but the devs should be very transparent about it. For me is a waste of Watts. Cheers

Yup. Why wont you upload your sources Your website says this Who we are? We are The UnA Project - a collective of individuals around the globe united by one goal. UnA does not contain any center of power, not even in the developing team. Yet that is the opposite of what is happening now.

dev ,what's algo of your coin , and any official pool here? when will hit exchange market ,any plan?
Hi, Our block creation algo was created by our head developer. It automatically adjusts each new block size depending on previous block height. This ensures that confirmations are confirmed within our 90 seconds timeframe. No official mining pool yet. Will keep you updated on further developments. We are in discussion with HitBTC to list on their exchange first. Best, Can you please try to stay away from shady HiTBTC? That would be amazing! Also from YoBIT and Cryptopia too... Actually, any exchange which has "chat" built in... Just don't go there, please? Interesting project and nice effort there! Good luck with this project!

Hey all! After a bit of rebranding, we merged Support UnA pool and now it's accessible on new domain! https://una.go-mine.it/Old domain will be still accessible and usable for some time, but all miners are advised to switch pool connection parameter from pool.supportuna.com to una.go-mine.it as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding and enjoy mining! ;)

It's strange that you have such a pop-up, for example, I've never encountered such a problem. Maybe the reason is that the problem with the internet is not all the blocks are loaded correctly?

Do you have Web Wallet or Exchange?
I have not met such a stamp on the official site and in white paper. maybe this is not yet. but in the future the team plans to create it for ease of use of the platform. For clarification, write in the chat telegram.

Hey Everyone! We are proud to announce that our new wallet has been released 🚀 The new wallet features a complete and modern redesign. We have also added multiple advanced features and improvements. Herewith, some of the features and improvements: - Advanced network and ASIC resistance / protection - Tail Emission Rewards - Adaptive Fees (First of its kind for future coin stability) - Synchronisation Speed Increase - Transaction Limit by X100 - Integrated Block Explorer Full release notes to be released shortly, so stay tuned. Please note that we are transitioning to an upgraded network, which means that there might be some short term instability. We therefore advise against transacting with the new wallet for next 2 days or so. Some of the features will also only become active once we reach certain block height milestones. This will be communicated as well. Upgrade will commence at block 263000, after which old wallet will become obsolete. Upgrade is therefore mandatory. Enjoy!

I love this project, they have their own unique ideas to be developed, but if anyone can tell me, I try to open a website to view their white paper and learn it, but apparently it has changed. updates on his Facebook ever last updated in july, the team looks like it should be more active to update an update on social media in order to make the community more know every development project.

Mapple exits scam ! https://twitter.com/iamjosephyoung/status/1056610591152922624A small crypto exchange pulled off an exit scam, taking all customer funds. There is no incentive for using small exchanges. Use established exchanges that are regulated, & transparent. Small exchanges also focus on maximizing profitability, not security or investor protection

why you did so unprofessionally this thread. Give on the first page all the links. make a separate branch of the bounty, so that there is not too much. I received a letter, Dear Friends! Hope you are enjoying the festive time of the year and long deserved holidays! In 2019, the first launched project on KICKICO board is UnA - the first scalable cryptocurrency for Africa, built on the CryptoNote protocol! UnA’s goal is to make cryptocurrencies accessible to everyone, uniting the whole world! UNA wants to make it easier for people to understand, use and engage with cryptocurrencies… I decided to look at this coin, and I see how difficult it is to figure it out ... just everything is piled up, the link is only to the site, you had a lot of time to put everything in order before the sales started and ..... How do I see there are no releases on the githaba, just the source? https://github.com/TheUnAProject/una_africa Yes, I found it on the site https://www.una.world/downloads2 engines detected this file SHA-256 c344ad0c9e8a9aa752ad52e14b2783e6bbf5ae287b9a2c6b22ed25e31d2e3aea File name una-3.0.4.finance-win.exe File size 13.05 MB Last analysis 2019-01-08 04:01:34 UTC https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/c344ad0c9e8a9aa752ad52e14b2783e6bbf5ae287b9a2c6b22ed25e31d2e3aea/detectionCan I mine a processor on my wallet?
