"Our platform is currently being upgraded. Please stanby while our hamsters are working hard to make Bitfinex a faster platform. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach us at support at bitfinex dot com "

Yes, please put it back up and schedule a time for upgrade - we are having open positions in there.

Unable to sign on at Bitfinex - is something up with the server?

Thanks

On the site, there is a message that they are upgrading

This is unacceptable in a time of volatile trading
Bitfinex should have done their homework before

When will we finally see a professional exchange opening in the bitcoin world?
All amateurs ( please excuse my emotions ) but this is insane

They should have announced the downtime 1-2 weeks beforehand. Now I am worried.

the hearing yesterday talk about an example that was two friends making an exchange or something similar... as much as I like bitfinex this is not an acceptable practice to have such lag on orders as we have seen today or to warn people on such a short notice and on this specific time !

Yes you CAN report server migrations when the market calls for it !

just in case someone wants to contact the bitfinex people? anyone has their phone numbers or addresses?

quote from their community info
https://community.bitfinex.com/content.php/31-Team-change
"Bitfinex will continue its development toward a regulated trading platform, complying with all necessary regulations for the safety of your funds, with the current team of Jean-Louis VAN DER VELDE (legal development) http://www.meetup.com/Bitcoin-HK/members/114736202/, Giancarlo DEVASINI (customer relationship and financial advising) http://hk.linkedin.com/pub/giancarlo-devasini/82/646/2a5, my wife (technical development) and me (technical development), helped behind the curtains by awesome external developers that will soon change the face of our platform.

If you have any questions as always you can ask in the comments.

Best regards
Raphael
Bitfinex team"

Ok so a professional platform (seeing how much you are earning each day with our fees, you should really consider yourself to be one of those) should be able to give us an ETA on account accessibility !

What is the ETA please ?

Do you people once again realize this is not the day to migrate ? I would like even request an answer from you on this subject !

Realistically there never is going to be a good day to migrate, but a warning and better planning was needed.  All I can do is pray that the price is fairly stable until it is back up.

They don't give a fuck...

No reply nothing !

If I had a business making me a lot of bitcoins each day like they are I would make sure I answer my customers in due time and treat them with respect !

I guess they are busy with other things than writing about that they are busy with other things. Roll Eyes

https://www.coinlend.org <-- automated lending at various exchanges.
https://www.bitfinex.com <-- Trade BTC for other currencies and vice versa.

They will learn in time that PR is #1 concern for any "'respectable" business !

Soon many exchanges will offer better than they do and they will regret not having taken enough care of their early customer...

Exactly, yes they should have planned this better, but right now they should be spending their time getting it up and running.

I disagree, you can talk all you want but give me something that works.  BTC users are much more savvy and spewing BS and fancy terms will never out way reviews from users.

When you care you answer !

I have talked in private with Raphael a few times and he seems a nice guy but it's normal to seem a nice guy when you run such a business !
You ANSWER fast to your customers ! If the problem is that they are bugging on the migration then may be it is best to say they are...
