Ishaq Dar lands in Pakistan after five years

Dar is coming back to “facilitate” the government in its efforts to resurrect the cash-strapped economy by taking over the key portfolio of the finance ministry.

The top PML-N huddle, headed by party supremo Nawaz Sharif, decided on Sunday that Dar will fly out with PM Shehbaz.

Dar will assume charge as the finance minister on Tuesday and the current Finance Minister Miftah Ismail will continue to remain part of the government.

(III).  The probability of mining  depends on the computational work performed.

(V).  Requires powerful and modern mining equipment.
(VI).  PoW is the original cryptographic consensus mechanism that appeared before PoS.
(VII).  To achieve greater scalability, all nodes within a transaction are involved.
(VIII).  This concept was invented in 1993 by Moni Naor and Cynthia Dwork.
(IX).  Graphically how POW work

 

PROOF OF STAKE: 
(I).  Proof of Stake (PoS) is a kind of consensus mechanism  used to validate transactions on a blockchain.
(II).  Hackers must own more than 50% of all cryptocurrencies on the same network, which is impossible
(III).  The validity period of a new block depends on the size of the stake
(IV).  Validators do not receive  block rewards. Instead, it collects only  network fees as a reward.
(V).  Server level modules are required for efficient processing.
(VI).  PoS is derived from PoW, but  with some improvements.
(VII).  The entire network is not involved in verifying each transaction. 
(VIII).  Proof of Stake was firstly introduce 2012 in PeerCoin

Rs20 per kg decrease in ghee, cooking oil prices

ISLAMABAD: With reduction in palm oil prices in the international market by 35-40 per cent, the Ministry of Industries has informed the National Price Monitoring Committee (NPMC) that they are expecting a Rs20 per kg decrease in the price of ghee/cooking oil in a month.

The representative of the Ministry of Industries on Wednesday informed the NPMC that there was a time lag of a couple of months, so the manufacturers were producing palm oil based on Goods of Declarations (GDs) cleared in June and July 2022. Then the exchange rate depreciation also played a role, so as per their conducted study, the price of ghee/cooking oil should be reduced by Rs20 per kg in the domestic market.

On the other hand, the prices of palm oil in the international market witnessed a decline from $1,500/ton to less than $1,000/ton, so the prices registered a decrease of 35 per cent. The prices of palm oil in the international market had touched $1,800 per ton a few months back and the prices in the domestic market had touched their peaks. It’s quite strange that the government has so far remained unable to reduce the prices in the domestic market.

An official statement Wednesday said that Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal chaired a National Price Control and Monitoring meeting in Islamabad to assess the implementation status of the decisions taken in the previous NPMC meeting. Chief Economist Dr Nadeem Javaid, officials from the Ministry of Finance, line ministries, FBR, Trading Corporation of Pakistan, Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan, PASSCO and representatives of provincial governments were present.

The planning minister directed the provincial administration to strictly monitor profiteering by taking all the associations into the loop to transfer relief to people. The Ministry of Industries stated that there is a significant decline in the palm oil prices in the international market. However, the impact of sharp decline in international market will be passed on with a lag in the local market. The minister directed the Ministry of Industries to ensure the deceleration in the prices of ghee/edible oil by Rs20 within the next month.
