You should run a 'cold' masternode, i.e. your coins are not in the wallet of the masternode running on the VPS, only on the wallet on your desktop computer/USB stick(s).  That way, if someone hacked your server, they cannot steal any coins.

Besides I found that the Alqo team offers MN hosting of their own here : https://hosting.alqo.org/

But I think I'll try doing it myself anyway.
