lol why on Earth would you want to lower the speed of these rigs? Isn't the point about getting the most speed out of an unit? Or is that sarcasm? Since this is literally the first time I am interacting with you; I have no idea which it is lol

As far as "one speed pedal to the metal and whale" ... I have no clue about what you meant there.

PS: I have never tried these.

Lower speed is better if it comes with better efficiency per TH especially in this market.

No one has tried the m10.

It means drive a car with the pedal floored.
Or my Kia Forte drives up to 100mph .

I can choose to drive it at 100 or 50 or 25.

Sometimes driving it at 100 makes sense some times driving it at 50 makes sense.

Many miners use air cooling via fans.   So when it is 95f running gear at 2/3 or 3/4 speed makes sense.

The company made the m3 and later added the ability to clock it a bit lower.

Sooo if the m10 can do 33th at full speed it is more complete to be able to drop it to 30th.

Most likely we are nearing the end of the line for efficiency these are 65 watts.  They may stay competive at that number for years to come.

So burning it out at full speed ahead is not my way of mining.

This is an interesting point. So why don't the manufacturers themselves ship these at a clocked down version that is more efficient vs the one that is running at full speed.
Also, if these could be 'stepped' down, does this mean these could also be overclocked?

Anyone ever tried that with an ASIC?

Anyone ever tried that with an ASIC?

many miners have multiple speed choices.

Halong T1  has four speeds
Avalon 841 has many speeds
I am currently testing the Avalon 851  it has many speeds
The older s-9s  batches 1 to 6 had many speeds

So yes many miners have been overclocked, underclocked etc.

It just makes the miner more versatile.

https://whatsminer.net is not fake. Also, Pangolinminer is not the manufacturer.

I just want to clear the air here with some real facts.

Matt Justin is the CEO of a company called VTI Enterprises LLC. Matt runs the whatsminer.net website on behalf of DJ Technologies. VTI has an exclusive agent agreement for North America & the EU with DJ Technologies to sell the Whatsminer. DJ Technologies started selling Whatminer products in March 2017, when Dr Yang Zuoxing (formerly of Bitmain) formed Bitwei. DJ Technologies is an authorized distributor for Bitwei. DJ Technologies is also the exclusive partner for Bitwei products in Shenzhen & Hong Kong.

If you have any other questions, let me know. I can definitely get you more info.

... So can someone confirm if Whatsminer.net is a scam / phishing site or not? ...

Would appear that tariffs apply because they state in their FAQ that delivery is from Shenzhen, China. Would be better to purchase from Pangolin due to cheaper cost and shipping.

I think the tariffs are related to where the product it's manufactured rather than where it is shipped from.

I think the post I was replying to was deleted for some reason. You'd only avoid tariff and VAT if whatsminer.net shipped directly from their Florida office and ate those fees themselves when they import from China. They appear to dropship from China, so you pay the fees regardless if you order from them or Pangolin. Pangolin was previously cheaper, but appears whatsminer.net lowered their prices some.

I would prefer buying it from the official site Smiley not from your scam site
Whatsminer is manufactured by Pangolin Smiley

Reddit Post HERE

Official Facebook post HERE

Code:
Whatsminer
September 13 at 11:32 PM ·
Official Announcement:

Recently we found such a topic on Reddit about our new DCR miner.
https://www.reddit.com/…/psa_do_not_purchase_the_whatsmin…/…
And basically, we don't like him to talk "officially" on the network. So we are coming to out clarify the situation.
1.1 Nature of Whatsminer.net
Whatsminer.net is Registered by a US citizen (So-called matt Justin) and running by US citizen. And he is not the official distributor of whatsminer products.
Anyone who has right to distribute whatsminer officially should come with POA(Power of attorney) from microbt.
For our POA, please send email to sales@pangolinminer.com directly, we will send you the copy.
The reason we don't want to share here is that some fellas may just Photoshopped it and reuse.
If that still cannot convince you.
Please check on WHOIS.net
Check whatsminer.com and microbt.com
Owner : Chinese
Register Time : 2016
----------------------------------------------------------
and Check whatsminer.net
Owner: US Citizen
Register Time: 2017
2. Evidence 1
I know disclosure is not good, but we have to do such a thing. Please find some of matt justin's order record in our system....
https://drive.google.com/open…
3. Evidence 2
And even their video is stealing from us....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z39LtJiFa8o
Please check the bottom right corner.... They do not have the source file, and just copy and re-edit things and post on their website.
You can find below for the first whatsminer M10 video shooting scenario.
https://drive.google.com/open…
4. Conclusion
Whatsminer.net is a vendor who resells whatsminer in the U.S.
They do not have any agreement with Pangolinminer or Microbt.
Microbt and Pangolinminer do not recognize it as an official distributor.

That's right. It's a company often referred to a MicroBT (or "Bitwei" - and often misspelled as Bitewei). Whatsminer is not manufactured by PangolinMiner.

Well now we know why their pricing is terrible, specifically at start ( back at 2kUSD), their pushing these units through two tiers of distribution. And they've bottlenecked into agreements.

There appears to be issues within the supply chain for 1 of their altcoin miners.

You can see the thread here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5068845.msg47865706#msg47865706

Not sure all the details but it looks like 1 of their official distributors will eat the cost increase from microbt the other will not.

So far this is not affecting any of their other gear sales
